Stormshade padded out of the den and into the clearing, where he spotted Sunstep. He padded over to him and sat down next to him, wrapping his gray tabby tail neatly around his huge paws. "Hello, good morning to you, how are you?" he asked politely with a smile.

Redpaw excitedly ran out of the apprentices den and over to his mentor, Acornclaw. He was so excited to begin today's training. "What will we be doing today, Acornclaw?" he asked.

A smile graced her face, "Thanks, Dawnpaw." The short-haired tabby rose to her paws and padded towards the Elder's den. Perhaps one of them needed some help with something today. She might as well make herself useful and see what they were up to. Besides, she kind of enjoyed their sometimes grouchy company and even their occasional silence was well appreciated. Unnecessary speaking could get to her sometimes as she preferred to keep to herself for the most part.

Acornclaw chuckled as he watched his enthusiastic apprentice bounce towards him. Of all of the apprentices he could have, and of the ones he had mentored before, Redpaw was definitely his favorite. The tom showed such dedication and determination towards his training. Not even Acornclaw was that dedicated as a youngster. "You'll just have to see," Acornclaw teased his apprentice, turning and starting to head toward the entrance. "Come on."

Redpaw frowned. He didn't want to wait to figure out what they were doing today. To be honest, he wanted to know now. But instead he obeyed his mentor and followed him to the entry of camp.

Acornclaw felt himself grinning to himself. He knew that his apprentice didn't like to wait, but he also decided that he's hardly ever going to tell Redpaw the techniques they're going to go through before we get there. Redpaw's got the enthusiasm all right, but not the patience. Acornclaw felt that he could find a way to teach Redpaw patience and calm excitement. He kept in front as they headed out of the camp and toward the clearing.
