Nodding at Rosestar and Emberfur's words, Ripplepaw dropped off, "Okay Rosestar! I'll get it right this time." Walking back to her position, Ripplepaw readied herself, "Alright, Stripedpaw!" She replied to him, and pounced again, this time closer to the center of his back, ready to jump off if needed.

"I'm fine," Lurkfur replied to Smokefang, "and glad to hear that Beechpaw's training is going well. I would like to have an apprentice myself." Nodding to Sparkstrike, he paced to the entrance and back, nodding to Beechpaw along the way. "How are you doing, Beechpaw? Ready to go?" He asked the apprentice.

Rosestar watched as Ripplepaw leapt into the air. It was a better jump than before, and she wondered whether Stripedpaw would choose to dodge or keep still. The two apprentices were reasonably well matched for this exercise, as neither had had much balancing training. Personally, in Stripedpaw's position, she would have let Ripplepaw land on her back and then roll to try and get her off. Rosestar continued to watch in silence, not telling the apprentices what to do.

Ravenfeather continued into the forest until she'd decided to stop and hunt. "Let's hunt here," she suggested, keeping her voice down so the prey wouldn't hear her. Pricking her ears, she smelt the air to try and find traces of prey. A rabbit was up ahead, downwind of her. She stalked it silently, placing each paw carefully.

Sparkstrike waited for Adderfang's reply. He was eager to go out hunting as soon as possible, and was already imagining himself walking into camp with more freshkill than he could carry.

Cherrysong looked around the nursery, keeping her tail on the right side of her body. There's not much to do in the nursery without the kits... Then again, the nursery is meant to be for kits and queens. She thought, laying her head down on her paws as she yawned, closing her eyes to possibly take a nap.

Stripedpaw smirked, waiting until the last second to move. The moment Ripplepaw was centimeters away from grabbing him, he ducked and drew himself back(walked backwards) quickly, so that Ripplepaw couldn't have a second last-second strategy of bouncing off of his back.

Smokefang looked around, still awaiting for Adderfang's response to the invite.

Rosestar nodded to herself as Stripedpaw stepped back at the last moment. She turned her gaze to her own apprentice, who would now have to change her position mid pounce. Rosestar knew that she might be able to flick out her front legs to make Stripedpaw fall over, but it would result in both of them falling. It would be interesting to see who would win this fight.

Ripplepaw's eyes widened as Stripedpaw stepped out of the way, she had to think of something, fast, before she falls. She wasn't in a position to change directions, and she would have no idea how to do that anyway, so there was no chance of attacking Stripedpaw. Instead, she lowered her goal to landing steadily, and tried to land without giving Stripedpaw too much of an advantage. She managed to land without entirely falling, that is, she was still on her feet, barely.

Stripedpaw reacted quickly, noticing that Ripplepaw was barely standing on her feet. Thinking of an idea for once, he swiped at Ripplepaw's hind paw, hoping it would make her fall or trip, or atleast something that would do something with her paws that would give him an advantage.

Emberfur watched with amused interest as the apprentices conducted a series of counter-moves against eachother. He was impressed they had managed to think so quickly, and that they had both managed to keep their balance so far. As Stripedpaw swiped at Ripplepaw's hind leg in an attempt to trip her, Emberfur's gaze turned to Ripplepaw, wondering if she could counter so quick, or if she could still keep her balance. Even for a trained warrior it would be difficult to remain standing on such uneven terrain after having a leg swiped from under themselves.
