Featherpaws pawsteps were brisk as she shuffled into the apprentices den, her body soaked to the skin. Shivering violently, she curled up into her usual nest near the edge of the den. Tonight, she didn't bother with her usual three turns before settling in, or pawing at the bedding for awhile until it was just the way she liked it, instead, she just dropped and curled, in a tight ball of soaked fur. Lightning struck the air, and the sound of a plummeting tree sounded in the distance, sending a shiver down her spine.
Owlspirit sighed, shaking his head at the sky from his position at the very edge of the warriors den. He sat straight, with his tail curled around his paws, his eyes scanning the clearing for any stray kits or lone apprentices. If the apprentices were in the company of a warrior, it would be accepted, but if they were by their lonesome, they'd need to be put to their den. Kits, on the other hand, were to stay in their den whether they had a warrior with them or not.
Pricking his ears at the sound of movement behind him, he saw that Sandfall had padded up behind him, drops of water clinging to her sandy pelt. "I'll go stay with the apprentices for the night." she said, after hearing the tree fall, somewhere in the forest. Without waiting for Owlspirits reply, she weaved her way around him, out into the pelting rain, so cold and fast that it was almost painful. Crossing camp over to the apprentices den, she slid under the leafy holly bush with them, her gaze solemn.
The camp was silent, as if holding its breath for the tradgedy that was soon to come. Thunder rolled in the distance, lightning flashed, and trees shook violently. But no sound came from the cats, only rustles of movement. Sandfalls ear twitched, the rumbling of the thunder getting louder, closer, but not stopping? It was one long, never-ending rumble, that grew louder gradually, something uncharacteristic for a storm like this. Her head was cocked to the side, confusion clouding her gaze, until several yowls split the air, as another tree hit the ground somewhere in the forest. This confused Sandfall even more; they had made sure that the whole of Brightclan were safely in camp, how on earth had they missed a cat, nevermind more then one cat? Her question was soon answered as cat after cat streaked into the Brightclan camp, several bloody and others limping, all of them having their pelts soaked to the skin. It was Brightclans turn to help Darkclan.
(Its about time, eh? xD)
