Darkpaw watched his mentor speak. Something wasn't right about her, she had been acting odd. He didn't want to say anything in front of the others though, and these thoughts were quickly overridden when she mentioned more training tomorrow. "Really? Okay!" He mewed excitedly. "Are we still going hunting today?"

Silentstep

"Yeah!" She assured, "We'll wait for Fallenthorn and Ravenpaw to finish training, I think today is a good day to practice catching birds." Even though she wasn't feeling well, she always felt in her prime while hunting, and hoped that would help. "Then we'll go back home and see what everyone else is up to."

the black shecat was surprised to find herself hit air, she sighed and looked back
before shaking her head in dismay to get her thoughts back, hearing the deputy
she nodded. she hated training when a cat younger than her was better, she
envied DarkPaw as she twitched her tufted ears... her stomach growled quietly
but she didn't feel like eating. glancing back to catch the black toms gaze she
quickly looked away, almost embarrassed in a way that she wouldn't be able to
look after herself in battle. she decided with putting on a fake smile she padded
forward and nodded agreement. i guess... i could eat...
she sighed inwardly and she sat back down on the soft grass, curling her tail
around her white paws.

Silentstep

"Hey, Ravenpaw," The deputy said, sitting up. "You're a great fighter, no doubt. But you really need a mentor. When we get back, I'm going to bring it up to Blackstar. There are plenty of open warriors, and you deserve to have a mentor for your own training. For somebody who has gone this long without a mentor, though, you hold your own pretty well. I'm impressed." Silentstep walked towards the apprentice, nosing her affectionately. While it was true Ravenpaw was pretty good all things considered, she picked up on how the she-cat was feeling and wanted to cheer her up.

the black shecat pricked her ears at what the deputy said to her
R-Really? she asked, feeling the hope
begin to rise in her as she lifted a paw to groom it, drawling her pale
pink tongue over the slightly dusted white limb. she drew it over her
forehead, gently dampening the thin fur. she soon just shook her head.
the deputy had succeeded in cheering her up but she soon just felt herself
think the words she told her were empty. she grumbled and shrugged away
from her affectionate muzzle and flattened her ears.
if BlackStar hadn't given me a mentor yet i doubt i'll get
one now..... she begrudgingly grumbled.

The apprentice's words made her frown, and she shook her head. "That's not true," she insisted, "Every cat needs an apprentice. Every single one. Blackstar will have to give you a mentor. Besides..." she paused, glancing over at Fallenthorn, "Not all cats have an apprentice. I'm sure there's some cat who would love to have you. Why, if I didn't have Darkpaw, I'd be the first volunteer!" She smiled, running her raspy tongue over the apprentice's muzzle. "Any cat would be lucky to have a hardworking apprentice like you, Ravenpaw. You work hard even though you don't have a mentor, everyone knows that. It's impressive."

Honeydew

Honeydew blushed at his comment, but then smiled softly. She then yawned, and wrapped her tail around her. She rested her head on the moss nest, and closed her eyes

Fallenthorn

Fallenthorn agreed with Silentstep. "She's right you know, you're really good". He suddenly noticed Silentstep was acting a bit odd, like something was wrong. He would ask about her well-being later. For now, he focused on Ravenpaw. "I think with proper training and a mentor, you could become amazing". He also added, "And Blackstar will definitely choose a mentor for you, he can't ignore your skill". He saw Silentstep give a look to him. "I think anyone would love to be your apprentice, I know I would".

the black shecat lifted a paw to cover her muzzle to protect it from
the rasping tongue of the deputy. i don't want you
guys to try and make me feel better, it wont work... I've asked BlackStar
before and he still hadn't given me one... she stood and
pushed past the two warriors... im going Hunting
she grumbled and pushed out of the clearing, she lashed her tail angrily
as she stalked through the brambles, some tangling her pelt which
didn't help with her mood.

Fallenthorn looked at Ravenpaw as she walked away, and gave a Is she like this all the time? look. He finally just shook his head, knowing how the apprentice feels. He was a bit grumpy when he was an apprentice, but Honeydew usually helped his outbursts of anger. "Erm, we should go hunting as well", he said awkwardly.

the black shecat stalked silently, she'll prove that leader she's
worth the time. she stepped lightly on paw and kept her tail just
above the ground so it wouldn't make any noise. she pricked her
tufted ears at the sound of scuffling and came across a plump
rodent nibbling on a nut as it sat on a root of a tree, she stepped
closer and sprung, though the rodent scented her and scurried off
into the undergrowth she grumbled and kicked a stone.
i cant even hunt, what kind of Mousebrain am i!?
she cursed while stalking around for another piece of prey.
