Silentstep

Darkpaw was quick, but Silentstep was faster. She moved out of the way, catching only the tip of the tom's paw. She wasn't surprised by how eager Darkpaw and Ravenpaw were to fight. She had definitely trained Darkpaw well, there was no doubt he'd become a fine warrior, fighter, and hunter when the time came. She was light on her feet, fast, but Darkpaw was definitely catching up. "Good!" She called out to him, "Great front paw strike! Do you see how the partner fighting position is good for defense? The only way to attack is from the front, there's no surprising from the back when we're like this." She had to admit, she was proud of her apprentice.

Darkpaw purred at the encouragement twisting around to face his mentors hind legs again, attempting a tail yank, taking Silentsteps tail in his mouth and forcefully yanking to get her off balance, still attempting to pin her in the long run. His mind raced with counter attacks, his heart rate speeding up and his pupils dilating. He glanced over at Ravenpaw to see how she was doing, and if she needed help.

Thornstone licked Honeydews head quite a few times, finding it calming. "If there's anything you need, just ask, okay honey?". He gazed down at her lovingly, all thoughts of his lost mate washed away under the excitement of his coming kits.

Rivergaze went back to organizing herbs, softly humming to herself and allowing herself time to think. She hoped Tornpaw was doing okay at the training; hopefully it would only better secure his faith in becoming a medicine cat. Fighting had never been her forte, she saw no gain in wounding others, no gain in the loss of life that ensued. It was barbaric, but necessary. She was just glad she was not the one to have to do it.

Honeydew

Honeydew purred. "Ok", she said quietly. "I can't wait to get the kits". She lovingly looked at her mate. "I hope they are strong like you".

Fallenthorn

Fallenthorn was a bit surprised when he saw Ravenpaw going towards him, but quickly reacted. When she was about to go to his shoulders, he quickly moved away. "Don't stop trying!", he said to her, waiting for her next move.

Thornstone paused as he was exiting, turning back to her and mewing, "We can only hope they will be half as beautiful as you, my darling," He exited, his long tail sweeping after him. Darkpaw had played with his tail endlessly when he was a kit; he hoped that the new ones would do the same. He ached for a walk, but wanted to stay closeby in case Honeydew needed anything, so instead he padded into the warrior den to think.

Honeydew

Honeydew blushed at his comment, but then smiled softly. She then yawned, and wrapped her tail around her. She rested her head on the moss nest, and closed her eyes

Fallenthorn

Fallenthorn was a bit surprised when he saw Ravenpaw going towards him, but quickly reacted. When she was about to go to his shoulders, he quickly moved away. "Don't stop trying!", he said to her, waiting for her next move.

Silentstep

Silentstep yowled as her tail was yanked, staggering sideways. "That hurt, but good job!" She exclaimed, attempting to regain her balance. She had underestimated how fast and strong Darkpaw had become, but that fact delighted her, it meant she has done her job. She kept her back facing Fallenthorn, unable to pay attention to how he was doing, and her eyes trained on her apprentice. "Leap-and-hold, Darkpaw!" She called. It was obvious the training had paid off, he had mastered multiple moves, and the last one she wanted to test was the leap-and-hold. If he could do that, well... "Keep going!"

Darkpaw was already going for a leap and hold before she had told him so. He leapt skillfully on to his mentors back from behind, unsheathing his claws to grip at her fur, but careful not to hurt her. If he hadn't unsheathed, he would just slide off her smooth fur. He crouched low to her body for maximum stability, lifting a paw to bat at her ears playfully, as if to say, Gotchu!

Silentstep

The deputy laughed, going limp. "Okay, okay, I give up!" She exclaimed, "You got me! I pity the cat who has to go against you in a real battle!" She craned her head to look at Fallenthorn and Ravenpaw, curious how their training was going. "I don't know about you," she began, "But all this fighting has made me hungry. We should do some hunting before heading back."

Darkpaw nodded in agreement, stepping off Silentstep slowly. "I thought we were supposd to practice a belly rake, or something like that?" He cocked his head to the side, also turning to look at Ravenpaw. The she-cat may be older than him, but seemed a little behind in her fighting skills. He accredited this to the fact that she didn't have a mentor, but still...he worried about her.

Silentstep

The she-cat laughed, "Yeah, I know," she began, "But I gotta tell you, Darkpaw, I'm plum beat." If she was honest with herself, the longer they were out that day, the worse she felt. It wasn't all the time, but the past moon or so she'd have a handful of days where she felt ill. But, being the deputy and not wanting to show weakness, she had failed to mention it to any cat. She figured it would just go away, but it hadn't. "We'll come back out tomorrow to practice, yeah? I think I've just over worked myself," she laughed, trying to make light of the situation, but her bones ached, and she felt warm, warmer than she should feel on a sunny day.
