Featherstar trudged through the snow, lifting her paws high over to the freshkill pile. Taking a skinny vole, she sat on the highledge and took petite bites from the thin creature before her, thanking StarClan for its life.
Whisperpool's heart raced as she ran through the forest, the sense of something chasing her made her sprint faster than ever. Her paws hardly touched the ground as she flew through the undergrowth, large paws thudding behind her. The molly didn't dare turn around until...
Whisperpool flung open her eyes to find herself in the warrior's den. Sighing with relief, she relaxed her tense muscles and lay in her nest, heart pumping loudly in her chest. The she cat stretched and stood, shaking debris from her grey fur before padding out into the cold morning. Frost clung to the leaves on the trees and the earth was cold and hard with snow. Leaf~bare was really on its way.
Raincloud hissed as he felt a kick in his stomach but turned to see no cat in the nest beside him. His sister was already awake. Stumbling out of the nest, he padded out after her but slipped on a frozen puddle. "Ouch." He grumbled as he climbed to his paws and shook his fur before sitting down and grooming it.
Otterpaw nodded and padded over to Duskstep. "Duskstep? Frostpelt says we can go on a patrol with you, if you'd like." The apprentice asked the warrior, his tone sweet.

Mapleleaf smiled as the apprentice returned with the feverfew. "Good find!" She purred as she picked up the herb she'd been collecting. "Now I can't remember if there was anything else we needed." The medicine cat looked around, seeing if there was any nearby that might be worth getting before the snow killed it all.
