Spottedpaw smiled at Wisetail and blinked drowsily. "Redpaw?" She rasped, turning toward the tom, laying on the ground, and her heart quickened.

Redpaw's breath became so shallow it felt as if he breathed not at all.

Treestar snarled. "Do it!" "I said no!" Came the quick reply. Crystalkit stood tall, voice unwavering.

"Redpaw!" She meowed to him, her voice full of worry, and it broke at one point. She flicked her tail, in embarrassment, looking at her paws, knowing that she probably gave it away that she was in love with Redpaw, and right in front of his mentor.

Wisetail just smiled down at the she-cat. He remember when he had yowled the same way to SkyBreeze when she was dying. It broke his heart.

"You little!" Treestar lunged at the kit. "Run!" His son cried to Silverpaw. The she-kit nodded and raced away. The leader bent down, slashing at the kit. The sharp talons barely missed his throat, slashing him above the eyes. Crystalkit bit into Treestar's paw before he raced away, blinded by his own blood.

Redpaw's breath suddenly left him. The limp apprentice lay there, eyes open and unbreathing.

"Redpaw! Redpaw, wake up!" She yowled at him, her voice braking again as she yowled at the. She shook him, trying to awake him, and she buried her face into his neck fur, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Redpaw, you must get up. Please." She murmered helplessly.
