Charcoalhawk struggled unsteadily to his paws, the wound on his side throbbed with pain as it continued to bleed, "Get, out of here Starpaw, you're not trained enough to fight" he managed to call up to her. As the fox made a lunge for his apprentice he jumped into it's path. As the fox's teeth closed around him he didn't move, hoping the fox would think he was dead.

The tom began to pad toward the camp entrance, "Come on," he purred playfully, "Let's go!" Whitepaw added, speeding up his pace slightly, but making sure that Whisperpaw could keep up

I climbed up the tree. I saw the fox grab Charcoalhawk. I was enraged got ready to pounce on the fox. I could hear My friend beg me not to. I jumped on the fox without thinking any thing through. I landed on the fox and held on as tight as I could. "You mouse brain, no good fox going in my territory, hurting my friends, and you think you can get away with it. not on my watch!" I mumbled. the fox thrashed. it tossed and turned, finally it pinned me agented a tree. I cried in pain, but still held on with all my might.

it was hard to hold on to the fox. my paw felt like fire, I continued to hold on. "Get of me you runt!" the fox yowled. she slammed agented a tree. I cried in pain again. I was forced to let go. the fox turned. "You are such a pain in the neck." she hissed. "that is where I bit you silly." I said trying to stay brave. my voice was shacking, I was in a lot of pain. I didn't have the energy to run. I just stared in the foxes eyes. it was a cold stair. "Stay there and it will be over easy." her voice cold as stone. "Foxes... are weak... picking on the young," I struggled to say. "I am willing to die knowing my clan mates are safe. let me say this... I will not back down!" I gave the fox one final strong glair. I meant it when I said I would not stand down to the fox. I didn't move an inch. I just stared into the foxes eyes.

sandpaw heard what sounded like it may be a battle. Distracted from her fear she looked at the ground trying to see the fight. Sandpaw could see a young cat fighting a large red shape then disappear. Sandpaw didn't know what happened but she wanted to help. As she reached the bottom of the tree she could see the cat held against a tree with a Fox only a whiskers length away from his face. Sandpaw leaped at the Fox landing on its back, she scrambled to get closer to its head fastening her claws into its hunches she bit down as hard as she could on the animals neck. Trying to distract the Fox from the other cat
