Owltalon was very relieved that Whitepaw didn't insist on talking about it. To be honest, he had no idea what he would have even said to the apprentice. That he liked Streamfrost? He didn't even know if that was what was wrong with him. He picked up a few more sticks, as many as he could hold, and he returned back to Streamfrost. He dropped them in a neat pile near her and said "I've got as many as i can carry. I tried getting the best ones in the woods, though i probably failed. But i think they will be good reinforcement at least."

Featherpaw took in a deep breath and then exhaled, letting her nerves escape her body. She closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them, a new found confidence burning in her eyes. She nodded to her mentor and ran off into the woods, quickly finding herself back at a steady speed. She stopped when she thought she was far enough away. She perked her ears up and listened very carefully to any type of unusual noises, such as the crackling of leaves or the snapping of twigs. She was listening for both prey and for Shiverstar as well, so she must keep her ears open and her head cleared. A crumbling sound was nearby and she looked towards the source of the noise, finding a plump mouse scurrying around on the crunchy leaves. She got into a crouching position and then began stalking the mouse, her whole body low and hopefully silent. She neared the mouse and right as she got close enough she pounced, the mouse helplessly under her paws. She delivered the final blow and then dug a hole, carefully placing her prey in it. She lightly covered up the mouse before she set off to find another. She could soon return to claim the mouse after her assessment was over, and she would stay in the vicinity.
