Shiverstar woke with a start. For a couple of short seconds he saw the pale shape of Sparkstar, but it vanished. He sat up and looked out the den. The sun was high in the sky, his nap hadn't lasted long. Maybe Mapleleap should know first... I think telling the whole Clan at once would be better. He thought, deciding to wait and see if he could figure out what it meant. Walking out of his den, he repeated it many times over in his head. He sat on the edge of the highledge, but quickly came down to where Featherpaw seemed to be standing clueless. "Featherpaw?" He asked, approaching her slowly "I've noticed you haven't had a training session in a while; would you like me to take you?" He asked.

Whisperpool looked at the medicine cat apprentice. Over time, she'd developed a heavy crush on Brownpaw, but it broke her heart to know that it could never be. A small tear trickled down her cheek, but she wiped it away before any cat could see. She curled her tail around her paws awkwardly, her cheeks turning slightly red.

Owltalon heard the soft purring coming from the silver cats and he could say that right now he had nothing to complain about. He was happy for not only Streamfrost but also for himself. He sat down once again and titled his head a little, only to straighten it back up and say "Yeah i can understand that. But hey, you are going to be the best deputy this clan has ever seen! You are not worthless but instead you are so much more than that. Don't let anycat else you that you aren't fit for the rank of deputy. But if you ever need help or if you are ever stressed then just ask me and i'll help, okay?"

Featherpaw sat down calmly in the middle of the camp as she figured out what to do at the moment. Her mentor hadn't trained her today and she wasn't really sure why, especially since she was awake and all. She twiddled her paws as she thought about things to do but she was unable to think of anything by the time Shiverstar came up to her and greeted her. She turned around and nodded her head in greeting, saying"That would be really cool if you did! Are you sure though? I don't want to distract you from the clan as a whole."

Shiverstar looked at her. "You haven't been trained for a long time, and you are almost old enough to be made a warrior. I don't know where Silverfawn went, but I haven't seen her at all," he rested his tail on her shoulder "I will take you training, and Streamfrost can watch the Clan for the few hours we will be out." He meowed, calling over to Streamfrost "Streamfrost! Can you watch the Clan whilst I take Featherpaw training please?"

streamfrost smiled. "Thanks for the offer," she purred. "I really appreciate it." Her eyes softened as she stared slightly at the brown tabby warrior. But the fae soon caught herself, and started to blush. A voice soon rang through the camp. "Streamfrost, watch the camp!" the she cat heard, and nodded. "I will!"' she called back, then turned back towards Owltalon. "Well... It was nice talking to you," she mewed, then paused, unsure what to say. "And thank you," streamfrost managed.

Once Shiverstar had heard his deputy's reply, he turned back to Featherpaw. "Let's go then," he smiled "which would you like: battle training or hunting training?" He asked, making his way to the camp entrance.

Owltalon wasn't lying in the least bit when he told Streamfrost that he would help her with anything she needed help with. It's not like he did too much during the day other than go out on patrols, whether they be border patrols or hunting patrols. His head lifted up at the sound of the leaders words. He was leaving the camp Owltalon assumed with Featherpaw. He silently wondered where Silverfawn was at the moment, but he quickly began thinking about his own apprentice. He looked back to Streamfrost as she thanked him kindly. He smiled and nodded gently to her, saying "Anytime. Now i guess i should go find Whitepaw. Me and him could use some mentor apprentice time!"

Featherpaw was quite surprised that the leader would take time out of his day to help train her. She knew that she was close to becoming a warrior, but for the leader to help her? That was a huge honor to the little apprentice. She gave one last look around for Silverfawn but didn't find her. So she decided that she would go out with the leader and do her very best. She looked over at Streamfrost and smiled as she said she would look after the clan. She then looked up to the white tom and said "Yes sir!" She quickly bounced to her paws and began walking with the leader. She looked over at him and said "Well...how about we split up time and do both? We could start with battle training and then hunting afterwards so we can take back our catch to the clan!"

streamfrost turned away to watch the camp, and set the patrols. She assumed that was her job- after all, she was the deputy now. "Umm... Whisperpool, Stormfall, and Mosspaw, join me on a hunting patrol," she called out, like she'd seen the previous deputy do. "And Mothberry, lead a patrol with Whisperfawn, Moonsong, and Buzzardpaw." the fae paused, feeling like she's forgotten something. "Oh, a border patrol! Mothberry, lead a border patrol."

Shiverstar dipped his head to the apprentice. "Good idea," he meowed "come on then, I'd be happy to train you." He lead her through the bushes, Tall Pines wasn't too far ahead. When they reached the clearing surrounded by the pine trees, he turned to her "I would like to see what Silverfawn has taught you already," he took a few paces back and grinned "attack me." He crouched low, his tail high in the air like a skunk ready to spray.

Whisperpool heard her name be called for a hunting patrol and she called in reply "Ok! I won't be two seconds if you want to leave and I will catch up!" She was saddened that her time with Brownpaw had been so short, but she came up with an idea so they could spend more time together. Turning back to him, Whisperpool meowed, trying to hide her hope. "Is there any herbs you need to collect? Or would you even like to come hunting with us?"
