"Who's the father?" Dawnpaw asked, she kind of had an idea, but didn't want to blurt it out.

Doeleap hesitated. "Don't tell any cat. It's.. the father is Ebonyfire." she said quietly.

"Oh, I thought so, you two are very close. Congratulations to both of you! Of course I won't tell, it's secret, but 'm sure you'll both be very happy," Dawnpaw said, grinning.

Ebonyfire was just standing there, in complete shock at the events, then he suddenly came round, he padded over to his mate, "We're going to have kits! That's amazing!" he said, though in a rather quiet voice.

Doeleap beamed, and then a look of thoughtfulness came over her. "I could have them out in the forest, and say that I found them there. Then I'd say to the Clan that I wanted them to be raised like Clanborn cats, and that I would choose you to help me raise them. I could nurse them in secret, and tell them nothing about the part of the warrior code that says medicine cats can't have kits."

"Well I find that rule silly anyway, why can't we have kits? It will make us know more about kits and what queens have to go through giving birth," Dawnpaw said.

"Exactly!" Doeleap nodded. "And the thing about us not doing our duty properly-- Nightstar still does hers properly, and Silverkit is a pawful!"

He bumped his head on the fence when he heard a voice. "Ow.." He says before pulling his head out of the hike and rubbing it with his paw. He narrowed his eyes and poke his head back through the hole and pushed himself out. "Who's there!?" He asked only jade way out of the hole.
