Cream was a bit discouraged, but limped on anyways. He halted when he came to a pool of water. "Water... am I supposed to swim?" he muttered softly. "I wonder how deep it is."

Cream reluctantly swam through the water, emerging on the other side dripping and shivering. He stopped to catch his breath there, and decided he'd find a place to rest for a while. He lay on his side, panting and still bleeding from the re-opened scars.

Cream flicked an ear. "Stormpaw..?" he rasped, voice worn out from yelling.

"Stormpaw?" Cream called out again, forcing himself to stand. "Please, Stormpaw, are you there?" he cried desperately, then stopped as he smelled the scent of blood-- extremely fresh, and with Stormpaw's scent mingled in.

Cream followed the trail. "Stormpaw?" he called. "Please, if you're there, answer me!" begged the bleeding, desperate tom as he neared the end of the trail, fearing that Stormpaw was dying.

Cream was immensely relieved, and he limped to Stormpaw's side. "Stormpaw! I was afraid you were dead! I'm really, really sorry I left like that. My Twolegs moved away, and I was homeless for about ten minutes, but then the kittypet that was in our camp a while ago talked to me and I decided to come back but you were GONE! I yelled and yelled but you never answered and then I fell out of a tree again and then I fell down this hole and then I found you!" he rasped as fast as he could, his words tumbling over each other. "But it's okay now because I found you!"

Cream looked worried. "What? Have I done something wrong? Your stutter was nearly gone when I left, and now it's back. I haven't traumatized you or anything, have I?"

Cream licked Stormpaw's ears in an attempt to comfort her. "If you want to talk about it, I'll always listen, and if you do feel like talking, we'll trade. A secret for a secret, and we'll both try to understand."

Cream looked injured. "But... can't you just give me a chance? I can at least try to understand-- kithood accident? Someone close to you dead? What is it that can be so horrifying?"
