Ravenstar smiled as he saw Moonpaw get the thrush. "Leap onto the thrush!" He meowed, adding, "Jump down from the prey when it gets close to the ground."
He decided to stay a little longer in the forest as he was teleported to a new part of the forest. He saw Nightshade. Padding close to her, he hissed into her ears, "Hello, Nightshade."
Darting away, he let out a mrrow of laughter as he watched the she-cat.

Ashenpaw shook her head. "I know... I've heard this all my life... I'm just too weak..." She shivered, huddling into a tight ball. "I can't defend my clan, you're right... But I..."

Claytail smiled softly until he was startled by Moonpaw's sudden movement. Even once Moonpaw had caught the thrush, he still scowled at her. "G-Get down from there!" He meowed, his voice sounding slightly high pitched. First off, he wanted to know how Moonpaw had seen the thrush, and secondly, wanted to know why she had climbed the tree. He shivered slightly, looking at the she-cat like she was crazy.

Moonpaw leaped down from branch to branch then jumped on the bird a fox-length from the ground, digging her claws into it's back. She bit it's wing so it wouldn't fly away, then let go, landing very slightly heavy on her paws. She huffed then ran to it and held it down. Hearing Claytail, she looked over at him in surprise. "What? I caught some more prey." She meowed innocently, slightly confused.

Claytail shivered, still staying where he had been when Moonpaw had first jumped. He looked at the tree again. I can't tell her she can't hunt birds... He shook his head. "I-It was a fine kill..." He managed after a pause, his fur sticking up in several places from his shock and fear. He calmly groomed some of it back down, his paws lingering on some of his scars. "J-Just... Please don't hunt things in trees when I'm around," Claytail quietly requested.

Moonpaw held the catch in her paws, noting how tense he was. She looked down and groomed her chest quietly. "I apologize, Claytail." Her meow soft and genuinely sorry. She picked up the bird and padded over, laying it at his paws then took a few pawsteps back, not looking up once. She felt bad for upsetting him.

Claytail shook his head, giving the kill back to Moonpaw. "Don't apologize, you didn't know..." He smiled weakly, looking at his apprentice. "It was a good kill... You are an amazing hunter..." He shivered slightly, absentmindedly rubbing his paw against his injured ear as he sat watching his apprentice. "Let's go back to camp," He said, a slight finality in his voice.

Moonpaw nodded and kept quiet. She picked up all her prey, a slight burden but didn't complain. Then, she followed him back to camp, following a pawstep behind him.

Whiteleaf heard his name being called, but only faintly. He didnt have much time if he wanted to save the she-cats life after all. Sipping into the den, he called "Ashenpaw!" before ducking into his herb storage area. He had to find what he needed as quick as possible.

Nightshade had still been lounging on the flat rock near the river, when a voice whispered in her ear. The fur along her spine bristled, the voice quite familiar. "Ravenstar..." She mewed under her breath, surprised as to why he was shoeing himself now. She hadn't seen the tom since her last day in the Dark Forest all those moons ago... She had been sure they would have left her alone, but she should have known better. Getting to her paws, she narrowed her eyes slightly, looking harder for the dark furred tom. Catching a faint shimmer not too far away, she glared at him. "What do you want?" She demanded, straightening her stance to look more like the kind of cat that held the deputy position.

Ashenpaw shook her head. "I know... I've heard this all my life... I'm just too weak..." She shivered, huddling into a tight ball. "I can't defend my clan, you're right... But I..."

Ashenpaw heard a voice though the darkness of the forest. "M-make it quick... I-I think that Whiteleaf needs me..."

Claytail walked back into camp quickly, dropping off his prey. "Moonpaw, you do know why I don't want you to climb trees, right?"

Moonpaw dropped her prey into the fresh kill pile then flicked her ears. "I'm guessing that's where you got hurt?" She mewed. "But I don't know how.."
