He padded up to Birdpaw, about to complain to him. "Birdpaw! You would never believe it! Cloudpatch made me go do work for the medicine cat, instead of letting me train for days!"

"I heard you crossed the ScorchClan border..." Birdpaw whimpered. "Are you okay?" The young tom completed ignored Fogpaw's complaint.

"I'm fine. That scorchclan warrior didn't hurt me." He hissed, his ears flattening. "You should have seen it!"

Birdpaw flicked his ears, "I still think it was kind of a stupid idea. I mean, I can think of a few of our warriors who would kill an apprentice for stealing prey." The tabby tom shrugged his shoulders.

"I guess it was a stupid day." he growled, sighing. "Well I can think of one warrior, Foxheart." he shivered.

[rentropy]

Birdpaw's eyes flicked over to the deputy. "Well, I think Cloudpatch and Shadowpool might as well..."

"I could agree with you." he mewled, turning to see Cloudpatch. "But I think that he would be way more wiser then to do that."

[rentropy]

Birdpaw sighed, "But even so, I haven't heard of a ScorchClan warrior who wouldn't kill an apprentice for crossing the border."

When Cloudpatch walked over to his apprentice, Pebblefang stepped away. She did not want to get involved. She winced as she heard Cloudpatch's temper being released. Even so, once Pebblefang heard the reason, she agreed entirely with the tom: if an apprentice didn't listen to their mentor...there really wasn't anything in the Code covering apprentice punishments and treatments. Besides, Fogpaw should know the risks of stepping over the border.

"I'm glad to know I'm not a total fool," muttered Tipwhisker. He turned his head towards the commotion, and watched with intrest the fight between mentor and apprentice. Fogpaw would certainly get chewed out for this!

Cloudpatch lied in a small patch of shade as he ate a thrush, watching his apprentice and Birdpaw.
