Opening
"You don't belong here. You never have. You freak, you need to leave. Now." You flinch at every spite filled word your clan leader spits at you, and you turn to look for some comforting face somewhere, but you find none. Every single one of the cats that you had once called friends, and even your own family has turned on you. There is nothing you can do but run. So that's what you do, the clan's hate-filled words echoing in your mind the whole way.
You can't help but hate yourself. There's nothing you can do. You think, surely any other cat in my position would hate themselves, too. You justify your thoughts through logic, and find yourself quickly lost in thought, but you continue walking. You walk for miles and miles, until you suddenly realize that, not only is it dark, but it's also snowing. You have no choice but to crawl into a log and hide there; to wait out the storm. Curling into a ball, you fall asleep.
You wake abruptly to the sound of crunching snow. Ready to take on whatever's out there and face the consequences, you crawl out of the log, still drowsy. Instead of finding some kind of animal waiting to attack you, you find, instead, a bright golden cat who is sitting just a few yards away from you. He looks you up and down, and sighs deeply.
"Another, I see? I'm so sorry." Neither of you move, you're still waiting to see if he'll attack, but he sits so still, you're not sure if you didn't just imagine his voice. "I'm sure they've told you that you are a freak, too, didn't they?" You jump as he speaks again, but as his words sink in, you sit in utter confusion. How could this cat possibly know?
"We've all been called freaks. We all grew up believing that we were freaks. But here's something I bet no one's told you before. You're not a freak, you're special. Come join the rest of us and find your destiny."
