"One of the things you should know is that you shouldn't go running toward your prey right away, at full speed. You have to be patient, and keep yourself well hidden." She meowed. "But it's still one fresh-kill lost." She sighed. "I'll demonstrate, and maybe you'll get an idea of how it's done." Hourhaze stated. She stood crouched, awaiting for a rabbit or a mouse to make its appearance.
Nothing, so far. A rabbit's pelt at this time of season was tough to spot. Her eyes focused for shifting snow, which was a sign of some animal.
There! A rabbit! It didn't seem to notice Hourhaze yet, so she took this as an opportunity to come in a bit closer to the rabbit. The rabbit stood, letting its guard down. Hourhaze lunged at the rabbit with claws unsheathed, clawing into its back. She held the rabbit down forcibly, just so it wouldn't escape, and bit into the rabbit's neck, ending its life there. Hourhaze thanked Starclan before bringing it back to Bumblepaw.
"There you have it - fresh-kill." Hourhaze meowed. "Here's a tip while hunting - aim for the back, to keep it from running away. Then you bite into the neck, which ends one's life quickly." She exclaimed. "Although this tactic is very useful while hunting, you must
never use this during battle. It is considered dishonorable, and the only time when you should use it is when your clan's lives are in danger." Hourhaze warned. "Also, you should attack your opponent, whether it's for hunting or battle, when they let their guard down. You'll surprise them, and they won't have a lot of time to react, if you do it quickly enough, that is." She added.
