Hazelpaw hesitated, and then nodded, a determined look settling onto her face. She gave the sky a beseeching glance, almost as if she expected the magpie to swoop down onto her. Shaking her head to clear her mind, she crouched down low when she spotted the bird trying to catch a worm. It probably has chicks, she thought. Pawstep by gentle pawstep, she creeped closer, then pounced, only for her paws to fall on empty air as the bird escaped with a shrill alarm call. Sighing, she sat back on her haunches. "I'll get you next time!" she muttered irritably.

mintstep chuckled and walked up, his white pelt hot with heat. "that was good for the first time." he grinned and sat beside her, "but you waited to long to catch it, and i think it caught both of our scents before you were even stalking it." he frowned at even his mistake, "so next time see where the wind is blowing-" he paused about to speak up when he heard a rustle in the bushes, when he caught a very, strong whiff of rabbit. "rabbit!" he whispered urgently to hazelpaw,

dunestar annoyed growl erupted from the medicine cat den, "ssmoke-" he was cut off when he saw the black and white tom, seemingly, dead? from here he couldn't see the toms chest rise and fall. "is he dead!?" he whispered, his ears perked up.

sorrelpelt eyes quickly shut but the annoying birds wouldn't shut up, she spotted speckledfur a fellow clanmate. "speckledfur! c'mere!" she called with a smile on her face.

Hazelpaw's head shot up, ears perked, having caught the sound of scuttering in the bushes also. Determined, she padded forward, making sure the wind was blowing in her direction so her scent wouldn't be carried to her prey. Eventually she pounced, and this time, she managed to catch it. "I got it! she said in amazement, her voice muffled.
