The SpruceClan leader emerged from his den, blinking his folded eyes and swishing his tail. He looked upon the clan with a purr, happy that his cats were doing so well. With a content sigh, the tom squeezed out from the hollow beneath the tree where he made his den and padded towards the fresh-kill pile.

Falconracer nodded to the assembled cats and squeezed through the camp entrance. He parted his jaws to taste the air, alert for any signs of prey as the patrol moved deeper into the forest.

Bringing up the rear, Berrysnout followed the patrol with her tail waving through the air. The ginger she-cat split away as she caught the scent of a squirrel, and crouched in the undergrowth to track it down.

Fallentwig noticed it was getting dark. She knew that she would be able to see Arthur again soon. Once the moon rose, she headed out of camp and into the darkness of the night to meet Arthur at the border. She reached the border and sat down, listening to the sounds of the woods. She sniffed the air for any sign of Arthur.
