Every decade, a massive race event known as The Race to the ends of the Earth is used to find new recruits from all over the world to join the new Wonderbolts. The Race is a grueling gantlet of life-threatening obstacles spanning the entire planet, it takes wits, guts, and lot of luck to make it to the end of the race alive. But bad news has reached the ears of the Equestrian Leaders, a resurfacing of Changeling colonies near the borders of Equestria! Will this new development interfere with The Race?

Sylvia, disguised as a white furred Pegasus, approached Cloudsdale for the announcement of the Race. She looked around warily and stayed at the back of the crowd, her fiery orange eyes glancing to her sides as she tried her best to avoid other ponies for the time being.

Blood was waiting for something interesting to happen. He loved that their was going to be a race.

A Pegasus mare in a Wonderbolts uniform climbed up onto the stage, approaching a microphone. "Greetings everypony, I'm glad to see so many of you are to compete in or watch the race." She announced. "The main event will begin later today, with the race beginning at night."

Sylvia listened closely, though she was focusing more on sustaining her disguise, she flicked her tail and looked towards a red and black stallion that caught her eye.

Blood listened to the speaker and he smiled and felt existed. Every Race was a different experience for him. He couldn't wait to see what this one brought.

The Wonderbolt's expression turned grim. "But this race will not be a trot through Equestria, no.. Ponies have died during this race, and this year won't be any different. I have a feeling I won't see some of you again..."

Sylvia looked aghast, her pupils contracting as she clenched her jaw, her breath catching in her throat. I won't die... She thought, lashing her tail.

Blood smiled and nodded. Oh this was much better than he thought. He would fight to survive and if he must he would fly out of any trouble.

"There isn't much else to say... The race starts tonight, at midnight." The Wonderbolt mare said. "Don't be late."

Sylvia folded her wings and walked away from the stage, briefly glancing back at the stallion that caught her eye. "Maybe it would be good to have an ally in this race... Someone to trust with a few secrets.."
