But the dark gray-skinned velociraptor beat Crosshairs to the punch, pushing himself between the green-hued male and the utahraptor with a warning growl. Lockjaw rolled his orange-red eyes, the spines along the back of his head and neck bristling with uncontainable hate and loathing for this "Locust". "I do so despise temperamental younglings.." The adult snarled as, quick as a flash, he rushed forward, barreling into the utahraptor and thrusting her away from the triceratops carcass. "Like my little companion here said, this is our food, and we didn't kill it just to have scavengers like yourself to steal it from us," Lockjaw said coldly, snapping the jaws he'd been named for at the brown and gray female's throat.
Without turning his icy, menacing stare from Locust, he growled to Crosshairs, "Take the kills and guard them. We'll dine once I take care of this filthy pest!"
