when she heard the name lostsong instead of her name, her shoulder sagged. she had always wanted to be deputy, but she wasn't picked. she sighed under her breath, looking at wrenstar. lostsong, lostsong! she yowled in approval, though she wanted it to be herself.

Firestream watched as Wrenstar called out lostsong as the deputy, nodding his head in approval
he shouted out the new deputies name. He didn't know much about the cat but he knew lostsong
was a great warrior and would make a great deputy to the clan. After a few moments the orange
tabby stood up and glanced around the camp unsure what to do at the point in time.

he puffed as he heard the two she-cats. he closed his eyes, now reapering to the real world. his pelt somewhat burned at the scratches. he licked some of the blood off then padded back to camp, he found lilyfur padding over to firestream. he padded over to them as well. what happened? he asked with a grunt. when lilyfur said that lostsong was picked at deputy, his fur bristled making him look twice as big. he saw wrenstar, he caught her eye. he shook his head, eyeing his leader then padded away. to the back of the camp, were shadows consumed him.

she padded over to the orange tom. hey! what do you think of wrenstar's deputy choice? she meowed quietly, not sure if she should talk or not. when coldflash padded up to them, her stomach lurched. he asked who was deputy adn she answered. her tail went betwinn her legs as he grunted, she lowered her head showing that he was the alpha of her. he padded away. she turned back to firestream. her eyes twinkled with fright...

The toms ears perked up when he heard Lilyfur say something,
turning his attention to the warrior he shrugged "Lostsong seems
like a good warrior, and I only wish him his best" he commented.
He was just about to talk when coldflash came up to them and
let the two talk for a moment watching at the tom walked
away. flicking his ears back for a moment he looked back
at lilyfur "What do you think about Wrenstars choice?"

her head and tail still hung low as she looked at firestream. lostsong is okay. to be honest, I wanted it to be me. I would have been better... she replied, not really knowing what to saw to the tom.

He stayed quiet for a few moments thinking of what
day at this point "Maybe you will have your chance one
day" he said softly, realizing half way through someone
would have to die for that to happen. Looking at the
ground he sighed softly "What drives you? I mean why
do you want to deputy?" he asked curiously.
Never in his life has he wanted to be deputy, he was
content being a warrior.

she looked up at the tom with a smirk. what doesn't drive you? I want to lead this can into victory, and let them have a lovely life. I can lead besides my fellow clan mates, with my deputy and medicine cat right by my side. to let my clan live up to their full potential. I have memorized the clan code, ways to fight and hunt, and I have my respect! she meowed, her head up and her tail sticking all the way up, as she had gained her cofindence. I haven't earned coldflash's respect... she thought but pushed it out of her head as she locked gazes with the tom.

Firestream chuckled softly at her response "But all that responsibility, risks, and work to keep everything running smoothly. Its just something I can not see myself doing, I guess I am just the odd one out here" he mewed. He looked at lilyfur noticing her sudden boost of confidence and a small grin formed "You really do want to be the leader one day" he mumbled mostly to himself

when she heard the tom's mumble she nodded. sure, she was passionate about this topic of conversation. yes I do. I have been wanting to since I was two moons old! she meowed quietly. grief hit her gently, she knew that she wouldn't be deputy, possibly ever. she knew that in order for her to become deputy either lostsong or wrenstar had to die and she didn't want that. she looked down at her paws, now worried and some what sad. she sighed.

"Two moons? that young already" he asked shocked of her answer. When he was that young the only thing he thought about was chasing his mother's tail and sneaking out of the nursery, she definitely was a determined warrior.
