Copperpaw heard Birdstar's call, and rose to her paws in the apprentice's den. Climbing out of her nest, she padded into the clearing and sat down at the side of the group of cats. Her two brothers were close behind coming to sit next to her, and she could feel their excitement as Birdstar explained the reason for the meeting. She stepped forward along with the other apprentices, both of her littermates standing at her side.

Thymepaw woke early, and sat up to wash in his nest until everyone else got up. He was just finishing up when Birdstar announced a Clan meeting from outside the den, and he looked up. Jumping out of his nest, he saw his sister already leaving the den, and paused to glance around for his brother too. Stormpaw was still in his nest asleep, so Thymepaw walked over and shoved his shoulder. "Wake up, there's a meeting," he meowed, and once Stormpaw was finally up they both left and joined their sister in the clearing. Thymepaw's heart quickened when he heard Birdstar tell everyone why she had called the meeting. Mentors? That's great. I just hope I get the one I've been wanting...

Stormpaw was still sleeping contentedly when he felt a hard nudge to his shoulder and a voice urging him to get up. He lifted his head drowsily, and saw his brother looking down at him. "A... oh, okay." A bit reluctantly, he dragged himself out of his nest and shook himself lazily. Thymepaw waited for him, and once they were out in the clearing they saw Copperpaw and headed over to watch with her. Stormpaw was still feeling a bit tired, but when he heard Birdstar's words his ears pricked up instantly. He moved forward with Copperpaw and Thymepaw, his slowness chased off by the idea of having a mentor, and waited for it to be his turn.
