Falconpaw couldn't help but agree with Icepaw's statement. She wanted to explore, see what was really out there. Ither than the dangers all the cats talk about. "Yeah, but they are here to protect us. But right now, I'm sure both of our tails would get shredded. We don't know what's out there that we need to defend ourselves from." came the ginger and black she-cats reply. Her golden eyes went from the landscape, to the other apprentice.

"Thanks, nice catch to you as well! I would have gone face first if I had tried to catch that fish." the tom chuckled. Hopefully his little joke would lift her spirits. He could tell she felt the kill was sloppy, but it really was much better than he could do.

Featherpaw, who had been settled in her nest, carefully grooming at her paw and throwing it over her muzzle to smooth out any stray hairs, she lifted her head to see Stormpaw, and purred in reply, "Good morning, Stormpaw. What's up?"

Stormpaw stretched, flexing his claws. "Ah, nothing much. What have you been doing today?" He asked, sitting in his nest, licking a paw and running it down his face to clean some dirt off of it.

Huronspark did a small nod, in an obviously unconvinced way. He's just praising you to make you feel better! That kill was careless! Were you even trying? Huronspark flinched as she was scolded by her voice. The words made her dizzy as they flew around in her head. Huronspark sighed. I'll get the next catch absolutely perfect! And if I don't I will the next time. No excuses, She thought, confidence rising as she gave herself a pep-talk to drown out her negative thinking. She parted her jaws, attempting to target the scent of prey. The sharp tang of a robin came in as a wave, she narrowed her eyes as it fluttered down. My tortoiseshell pelt will be the perfect camouflage for blending into the forest floor! She thought, determined to catch the robin. She crouched, and silently stalked towards it. She felt a dry leaf crunch under her paw and held her breath. In an instant flutter of wings, the robin flew. She quickly used her hind legs to perform a powerful pounce, just snagging the bird by it's wings and grabbing it. When she landed, she bit into it's neck killing it.

"You right your right. Sorry for even saying those completely idiotic things. Maybe it's just because I want to get myself a good reputation and prove myself worthy. It's just, I don't want to seem useless and I guess that thought took over me." Icepaw sighed with a bit of disappointment. He was a bit embarrassed and preferred to stick with staying in camp.

Huronspark turned around to face Spottedtail, her robin hung limp in her jaws. Her yellow tinted olive eyes narrowed as she listened to the tom's suggestion. "I'll try that next time," the Tortoiseshell meowed under her breath. She parted her jaws, letting the scents of the forest flood in, she instantly scented a mouse. "Why don't you catch that mouse and demonstrate the thing you taught me?" She suggested in a slight complacent way, because of her suggested superior and confident personality.
