Boneflower gave a small purr and went to lick the kit's head. "Sometimes our paths are not what we want, but what we need," she said gently, leaning back to look at him completely.

He looked slightly annoyed. "But..." He felt like protesting, but he stopped himself from saying anymore about it. He sighed. I have no interest in ripping others' fur off though. It seems so pointless. he though to himself.

Athena sat outside the nursery, her ears flattened softly in irritation as she brushed her tail softly over her swollen stomach.

Silkfur sat eating a mouse quietly and calmly outside the warriors den, enjoying the warm rays of the sun shining through the trees.

He looked curiously at Boneflower. "Why are you one then...?" He asked cautiously. "If anything I'd like to be a medicine cat than a warrior." He half muttered this to himself

"Well, I was going to be a warrior. It was my dream to be the best warrior I could be. I wanted to be the deputy to a strong leader and guide our clan into victorious battles until the end of my days," she admitted. "But, that's not what happened, as you can see." A sigh escaped the medicine cat. "I was only seven moons old, and my dreams were ripped away from me. During a patrol, I ran ahead at the scent of a squirrel. When it raced up a tree, I followed. The branch wasn't strong enough to support me, it was too high up to be strong. The branch broke and, with it, I fell. Trying to position myself, I landed on my back leg and broke it. I was taken to the medicine cat den and, after a few days, it was determined I could never be a warrior. They thought I would never recover."

He looked with new sorrow in his eyes. He was just a kit, so he couldn't relate to any of this, but he knew this must have been painful for her to say and have happened. "That's..." he didn't have anything to say. He pushed up against the medicine cat's leg comfortingly.

Boneflower gently licked the kit's head. "It's alright, little one. Everything is fine now. While I do miss being a warrior dearly, I do love being a medicine cat too," she said with a purr. While I cannot have a paw in both worlds, you perhaps can for me. How does that sound?"
