The tom cocked his head to the side. "Okay follow me," he meowed. He crouched beside his apprentice. "Nice and slow. Pretend you're standing on really thin ice," he offered. He lifted a paw and carried it very very slowly through the air, placing it down on the ground without a sound.

Badgerpaw imitated the motion alongside his mentor, his rear legs trembling as he tried to keep his center of gravity in the right spot while still shifting slowly, and though the motion was a touch smoother his paw touched the ground with a crumpling and a small thud as his paw found a leaf. He'd tried to put it somewhere leafless, or at least with leaves so late in the decay cycle they made as much noise as dirt, but he couldn't steadily hold out his paw while concentrating on his form- staying low and moving smoothly- so his paw went down too soon and therefore loudly. "Fox dung." He hissed, frustrated.

Twistedstar grunted, looking at the kits. "What're your names?" He repeated, looking at the scraps. "Who's are you?"

The baby bird who was nestled against the white tomkit squeaked pitifully and snuggled into him.

The white kit mewed and wrapped himself lovingly around the baby bird, purring softly to send the bird to sleep.

The black kit pawed the bird weakly, snuggling up to it. She felt it's thick beak press up against her as she settled in and stopped moving.

The brown queen snarled at the kits. Wow, look what happened this time. They've picked up birds. It's like every animal in the forest is attracted to these nightmares. Looking down in disdain, she picked up the kits, shaking off the birds, and hared into the forest. I must get them to the Clan, then I can be rid of them forever.

Kril looked up as he was disturbed. Letting out a harsh cackle, he nudged his brother. "Come on, the kits are gone, we have to chase after them."
