Soot looked at him understanding his concern, "I'll just have to trust that my mother will be enough for him not to kill her kit in front of her. He loves her dearly and I do not think he will do that." He sounded confident. Starclan was on their side. They accepted him by not killing him.

"He's a ruler of the dark forest. Surely he was lying." Eaglebite insisted

"We need to trust Starclan that they'll help us." Sky leap said

"Starclan is too scared to enter the dark forest." Eaglebite snapped back

Soot saw the wild look in his eyes, "I'm a mousebrain!" He looked at his friend. The dark forest had chosen his dear friend too. He bit his lip and padded a bit closer to Eaglebite, "Come with me. You two stay here." He looked at the she cats urgently. He looked at Eaglebite and motioned to him quickly, "The Dark forest chose him as they chose me. Stay here, I know what to do."

Eaglebite got up and stalked off tail lashing. He sat not to far from where the others were resting.

Soot growled and took Eaglebite's scruff in his mouth and dragged him over to a nearby pound, "Drink." He demanded. He knew if Eaglebite drank the water the forest who possessed him would be gone. This is not just a normal pond. It was pure. He used to come here when he was a kit and it would give him dreams of Starclan. He could talk to his Father.

"Why?" Eaglebite scoffed. His claws were out and dug into the soil. He remembered something Jaykit had told him many moons ago, something about his father, and for some reason it haunted him. "I'm not thirsty. We need to get back home to get your mother and save the clan." He growled and started to walk away.

Soot pinned him down, "PLEASE! FIGHT IT! DRINK. THE. WATER!" He yowled and dragged him back over. "Please..." tears began to form in his eyes, "I don't want to loose another cat to the forest..." He thought of his kithood friend and how the forest possessed her and she drove herself mad and tried to kill Soot. Soot had to defend himself and ended up killing her. Tears streamed down his face as he remembered and mumbled, "Please." he thought of what his mother told him, The pain won't last forever, but the memories will.

Eaglebite looked at Soot like he had gone insane. "Fight what? We're out of the forest." He said lashing his short tail

Soot's eyes burned, "Nevermind. The forest has possessed you. It's trying to make you forget. I see it's no use." Soot sat down looking at his paws.

Jaykit moved one of his front legs in attempt to get up. He felt a sticky paste on his fur, it scared him. He thought "is this going to be my last breath of air? My last day in this clan?"he fell back down. He though for a second more, "Starclan, if you... if you are here, if you are real, please help me. I am scarred, just help...." He though. Jaykit took a breath and a yowl came out. he slowly opened his eyes, he didn't know if anyone was there, he didn't hear anything at first. " wh- what- who..... his words choked in his mouth " mommy?" he said falling unconchess
