The tortoiseshell padded into camp, followed by Fogpelt. Both carried huge mouthfuls of prey and dropped all of it off at the fresh-kill pile before going their separate ways. Fawnstep's ears lowered, watching her brother walk off without a word to her. He was still a little upset at her from the incident two-moons ago. He'd begun to put up a kind of wall against her, only communicating when it was absolutely necessary. Sadly, she'd become mostly used to it. This almost always happened to siblings one way or another, they'd make up eventually... She hoped so anyway. Fawnstep looked around camp hoping there was something else she could occupy herself with. A whole moon of recovering from that dumb concussion had jam-packed the she-cat with loads of productive energy and she couldn't seem to stop herself from doing absolutely everything that needed doing.

The tom slipped away from his sister as quickly as he could after leaving his prey on the fresh-kill pile. They hadn't shared a word the entire time they were out hunting, and he could tell it probably bothered. There were several times when the she-cat had opened her mouth to congratulate him on a good kill, but closed her mouth knowing she'd get a stone-cold stare and complete silence. Fogpelt almost felt guilty. Almost. He felt that he'd matured over the last couple moons, being less of a playful kit than an actual adult. He could tell Fawnstep wanted her brother back, but he didn't care. He wanted his sister back.

The tom napped in the shade of one of the many trees that surrounded the camp. The weather was agonizingly hot, especially with his dark pelt. The sun was brutal, beating down on the camp and causing the humidity in the air to really stand out. His tail lashed lazily as he laid in the shade, enjoying the relief from the relentless sun light.
