The apprentice flicked her ears, purring. "Yay," she shuffled her paws, enjoying the cool water. It was a nice day, and Sunpaw gave a happy laugh as Icekit did a small dance.

Icekit leaped onto land, shaking her pelt. "I like water!" she exclaimed. She padded to her nest and settled down. Icekit was exhausted after playing around (she doesn't have a lot of energy; she's 1 moon old). Slowly, sleep settled in and her heavy eyelids drooped down. "Zzz..."

She watched the small kit return to the nursery. Stepping onto dry land, the light, shell colored she-cat curled up on a flat smooth rock, absorbing the sunlight as her paws and legs dried off.

29 Moons--Aspenfrost--Female Warrior

Satisfied with the robin, rabbit, and finch she had caught, the warrior returned to the clan clearing, setting her catches on the prey pile. Then Aspenfrost took a small mouse for herself, settling in the shade and eating.

Icekit woke up, the sun warming and drying her fur. "How long have I slept?" she wondered out loud. She padded to the freshkill pile, sniffing it. "Smells kind of good..." she murmured. Icekit nibbled on her paw (it's a habit of hers) and stared at the shallow part of the big body of water. "One day, I'll be able to SWIM in the DEEP water!" she meowed, already trying to remember what the warriors did when they swam. She wondered if Sunpaw could swim. "Maybe it's too dangerous for apprentices to swim," she squeaked out loud. Icekit pounced on a leaf and pretended to eat it, but, she ended up actually eating the leaf. "Eww!" She spat out the leaf and sighed. Icekit padded to her nest and sat down, watching the warriors and apprentices bound around. I don't have anything to do, but they have so many things to do they have to share their hunting and everything! she thought. One day, I'll be a great warrior!

Thistlestar dipped his head to Bearclaw. "Morning." He greeted and looked over at Icekit and Sunpaw. He purred with amusement, then jumped down from the highrock. He picked up a rabbit that was laying on the freshkill pile and walked into the nursery, dropping it at Sparrowcloud's feet. "Thank you, Thistlestar." The queen purred and began eating it. Thistlestar dipped his head and walked out, then looked around his clan.

Ternleaf was out of camp collecting herbs. She insisted she didn't need a warriors guide and she could protect herself, which she could. The medicine cat was collecting catmint until she heard something that made her stop. A dog barking. The cat listened for a few seconds, then shook her head. Wouldn't be a threat. You can hear its twoleg's calling it away. But she would still report it to Thistlestar.

Icekit drowsily opened her eyes to find out that she dozed off. She glanced at Adderkit, her brother, then scrambled to her paws. "Hi-ya!" she squeaked as she leaped onto his tail. Icekit ran off to the fresh kill pile and nibbled on a squirrel. "Delicious!" she murmured. "But I'm not hungry." She groomed her fur (luckily there wasn't any mud!). "Yay! No more swallowing that yucky mud!" Icekit meowed triumphantly. She did her famous little happy dance.
