Her eyes narrowed,one raised a bit. These toms were always the worst to wake up,but they were acting weird. Did i intrude on their dreams?...Who cares! She gave a sarcastic but slightly sweet smile."Now now! Being mad at me wont do ya two any good! Unless you'd rather be woken up by your mentors,look like you care and get a move on!" She said, before looking back, flicking her tail up.When she heard a snarl, she just rolled her eyes. She padded out, looking for Stripethroat. Her blue eyes were serious and focused.

Coldcry - Tom - Warrior - 30 moons - No Crush

His amber eyes narrowed at the small medicine cat. He gave a small hiss before getting off the rock before following the medicine cat silently.

i felt shock, then happiness, then fear, then sadness, in about 1 split second. shock, that he liked me. happiness, that we felt about each other the same way. fear, that i would turn against my clanmate, fogslip, and finally sadness, that he felt the need to run away in embarrassment. i blushed deeply, before turning away and proceeding the pad back to sunclan camp. i looked up and saw the image of whitestorm and gullstream making their way up to starclan, but my mind was spinning so much that i didn't even take too much notice of it at all. when i arrived back to camp, i slumped into my damp moss patch, feeling overwhelmed and the need to cry. so i did. i sobbed. wept. cried. it's basically all the same. after i cried myself to sleep, i began to drift off into what was an important sleep.

the dream;

i looked up and watched as a she cat padded into my den, looking tired and worried. "dewleaf?! i've missed you so much! there are so many questions? why were you out near the thunderpath?! why did you never come and speak to me?!" i shrieked, nuzzling her. i had seen her ever since her death, days after she'd been announced a warrior. "when you arrive in starclan... littlefur... i've travelled a long way to find your messenger and guide him here, so listen to him." she mewed, her voice warm and still young. "messenger? so a message?" i asked her, but she didn't answer. a large grey long haired muscular tom cat padded inside the den, sitting himself before me. "more like a warning, than a message. but it's a message that's a warning... or a warning that's a message...? anyways, nevermind. littlefur, i am greystripe, and i travelled long and far to bring you this.. warning. 'there is an enemy far worse than the emberclan cats which you distrust. darkness is the threat. darkness brings sleep, and sleep brings darkness to those who's loyalty is not true. beware the cat who seems to sleep.'" greystripe and dewleaf padded out of then den, but dewleaf poked her head back in. "we'll soon meet again..." i awoke, and got to my feet to go see shorestar as the dawn lit up, but a force flung me down back into a dreamless sleep.

Wolfpaw held back a growl, "Thanks, I didn't know I had another mom in this clan." Sarcasm oozed from his words. The tom took some time to get to his feet before glaring at Pipitpaw. "What was that for!" He spat. He felt as if his shoulders were on fire; scarlet drops fell to his mossy nest. Wolfpaw lashed his tail, "You know what, I don't need to deal with this right now." He turned around and walked out, his cheeks reddening in embarrassment.

Fogslip slunk after Ravenclaw, embarrassed, as Armidillotumble spoke. She heard but didn't register the words for a second time that night. She knew she disobeyed orders, but she didn't care. She was mad at herself that she got caught and embarrassed she almost fell. That never happened before now. She lived in SunClan territory for almost a moon before joining the Clan and was never noticed. Fogslip grumbled to herself, ears still plastered to her head, as the two neared camp.

Shorestar nodded. "I take it you did as well?" The cream tabby sat beside the tiny medicine cat. Worry was prominent in her eyes and she sighed. "StarClan said there is an enemy worse than EmberClan, that darkness is the threat. 'Darkness brings sleep, and sleep brings darkness to those who's loyalty is not true. Beware the cat who seems to sleep.'" She quoted the last bit directly from "What do they mean, beware the one who seems to sleep?"

As Tumblebrush woke, he was quiet not to disturb Poppystem as she slept. She needed as much rest as possible considering what had happened the night before. Speaking of, he wasn't sure if she would be fit to bury Flameheart today. Frowning, the warrior padded quietly out of the den and over to Redstar. "I know you are busy, Redstar, but I was wondering about Flameheart's burial? Poppystem isn't fit to bury him on her own."

Meadowlark finished her meal and after wiping her muzzle with a paw, stopped to watch as the three apprentices angrily exited their den. She raised an eyebrow. Why was every cat acting so odd? The young cats were usually all over each other. She sighed, walking up to Foxpaw and intercepting her path.
"Young cat, you never mind those two. Seems like every cat's got their tail in a twist this morning." She grumbled, pressing the orange she-cat to head for the entrance. "We're going on a hunt to fix the poor excuse for a fresh kill pile in this camp."

Redstar perked her ears.
"Krestlenose, over here," she motioned with her tail from across camp, then turned to Tumblebrush. "Yes, of course," she nodded to the Warrior. "I shall see to it that she doesn't need to leave camp. She's in no shape to do so." Her eyes scanned the clearing, landing on her apprentice.
"Pipitpaw! You'll be coming with me today. You and I will be taking care of Flameheart, Swiftspirit too." She finished, then lowered her voice and stepped away from the others to speak with her Deputy.
"Something is wrong. I must speak with you. Come with us to bury Flameheart and I will explain when we are alone."

As they returned to the camp, Ravenclaw stood beside the entrance, waiting to see that the she-cat would enter. He casted a hard stare her way, as if expecting she might leave again.
"Perhaps you ought to find your apprentice for a bit of training," he suggested.

Rainpaw was startled awake by the voices in the clearing. He stood, wincing at the cut in his side and hurried to lick it clean before anyone of the other apprentices woke up.
Flickergaze won't like this... He thought, heading out into the open and looking for his mentor hesitantly.

"Alright." Krestlenose nodded his head, he was unsure why she wanted him to join the group besides the fact that he was the new deputy. While he waited for the others to disperse Krestlenose slunk to the back of the group. He wanted some time to think about Flameheart's death. Like most of the clan it was a shock to the tom that someone would harm the deputy. Then again, Flameheart was the deputy. Krestlenose shook his head, realizing what he just thought. Could someone have murdered him for the position? No... it would have to be some other reason.

Wolfpaw scrunched his nose at the tom, he brought his chin up to the air. "Humph!" The apprentice padded towards The medicine cat den. "Mintpaw are you in there? I slept on some thorns and now I'm all scratched up. I don't want my pelt to be all dirty, then I'll get rude comments from the others!" His mew turned into a sad wail. Wolfpaw pouted his lip, "Please?"

The cranky shecat spotted her apprentice walking out the den. She immediately noticed the way he was moving, as if he were in pain. Flickergaze approuched him to get a better look at the tom. "Morning Rainpaw." She mewed shortly, her eyes narrowed but not angry.

Her blue eyes looked upwards, seeing Meadowlark. She gave a respectful nod. "Yes ma'mam. It's good to see you notice that." And me. I feel sometimes cats around here don't notice how much i do. I wake those sorry excuses for apprentices everyday,so they wont be scolded. And for what, for them to hiss and ignore me! Her eyes went fiery, her anger almost too obvious. She took a breath before following the older she cat. "If it's ok, maybe we can check borders while we are out. You know how things have been...and I know you are worried too." She meowed softly, her face looking straight ahead, focused.

"Perhaps you ought to begin patrols." Fogslip snapped in response, shooting a glare at Ravenclaw as she stalked past him. " 'Perhaps you ought to find your apprentice for a bit of training.' " She mocked under her breath in a terrible rendition of the deputy's voice. Who did he think he was, telling her what to do? Oh yeah, he was deputy... Well piss on him. As Fogslip neared the freshkill pile, she saw there was only a small vole left laying there and her stomach growled, reminding her of how hungry she actually was. Huffing, the warrior, turned on her heel and stalked to the apprentice den, ears burning. She didn't want him to win, but Littlepaw did need to get up and the Clan needed breakfast. "Littlepaw, come on. We're going hunting." Fogslip mewed as she entered the den, poking the she-cat's white flank.

Pipitpaw looked up as he heard his name called. His mentor made eye contact with him briefly before she turned her head to speak with Krestlenose. The apprentice abandoned his efforts to explain what had happened to Wolfpaw and padded over to Redstar. As he sat patiently, he swiped his tongue over the ruffled bits of fur, also checking for scratches and cuts. He didn't find any major ones, save for a few scuffs. 'I came out good tonight.' Pipitpaw though, proud of himself. As he passed a paws over his eyes, however, he felt dried blood coating his brow from the blow Frozenpool dealt him. How Foxpaw or the others hadn't noticed was behind him, but the tom quickly tried to wash it off with little success, his ears burning nervously.

Armadillotumble glanced at Coldcry. "Lighten up," he purred. "At least you don't like two she-cats out of the clan," he muttered under his breath. Armadillotumble snuffed around in the undergrowth, beaming when he found some Chervil Root. He picked it and pushed it towards the warrior. "This is what it smells like," Armadillotumble mewed. He silently hoped that Coldcry didn't hear him. He also wanted to get back to camp...so he could Tell Foxpaw..everything. He turned back to the undergrowth and kept sniffing.
