Crystalstar dipped her head. "I will allow you to tell them. The ceremony will be at sunhigh," she meowed and dipped her head. She turned and padded away, thinking. She needed to talk to Rapidclaw and Rainfire. They were well suited for these apprentices, and it was time that they become mentors. She padded towards Belugaheart and Rapidclaw. "Rapidclaw, I belive you are ready for an apprentice. I will have you mentor Brookkit at their apprentice ceremony at sunhigh." Then she turned and padded towards Rainfire, whom was sitting with Mistycloud. "Be sure to be here at sunhigh. I have chosen you to mentor Heartkit." Then she padded away towards her den and disappeared inside.

Rapidclaw dipped his head and turned to Belugaheart. "Well, I guess that's what I can do! Mentor an apprentice!" He purred happily.

Crystalstar watched the sun climb higher in the sky. She knew Rapidclaw was well suited, but she had thought deeply about choosing Rainfire as a mentor. She gave him Heartkit because she believed that mentoring an apprentice like Heartkit would be good for him and help him grow closer to the clan and feel like a part of them.

Rapidclaw smiled. "Thanks. I'm sure one day Crystalstar will give you an apprentice," he meowed. He flicked her ear with his tail and purred.

Firetail giggled but stopped and just nodded and smiled. She returned that playful glint in his eyes and focused on hunting. She sniffed the air for prey, padded towards a set of nearby trees.

Thorntail gave a sly smile before swiftly padding into the trees, his brown tail swishing. He spotted a rather large rabbit and nearly gasped. He beckoned Firetail forward silently. They had to catch this rabbit. It could feed so many cats!

Rapidclaw dipped his head. His eyes glinted with something as he set his paw back on the ground. "I can't believe I'm getting another apprentice after failing with Snowpaw. Her death was my fault," he sighed. Snowpaw had died by a monster roaring by and crushing her. He should have warned her. He had been there, but he was distracted. He shook his head sorrowfully. "She shouldn't trust me with Brookkit."
