Mudfang awoke from his deep slumber as he heard Lakestar's yowl. He grunted and rose to his paws, not bothering to lick his ruffled fur as he headed to where the cats were gathering.

Lakestar shifted his paws impatiently, waiting for the clan cats to gather around the high rock. Once they had all gathered, he mewed loudly for all the cats to hear. "Cats of LeafClan, I regret to inform you that one of our own has passed away. Minnowkit, Featherstep's son, has died. Elders, prepare for his burial tonight. Those close to him will have a chance to say goodbye." Lakestar finished, the expression on his face solemn.

Smokekit slowly padded over to his dead brothers cold body. He buried his muzzle in Minnowkits fur and began to sob. "Minnowkit....."
