"Okay, thanks!" She replied, pulling herself to her paws. She proceeded after Ghostpaw back to camp. As they approached, she split off toward Jackalstar.
"You wanted to see me, ma'am?" She asked, positioning her ears forward attentively.

Jackastar watched as Ghostpaw went off... and was pleased when Shortpaw was so quickly returned. She looked down at the young apprentice, noting her enthusiasim and flicked her tail with amusement.

"Indeed." She said. "I had a question for you." The apprentices' answer wouldn't have much effect on the decision she'd already made however... but the answer was one that she was curious about nonetheless. "If you could pick your own mentor, who would you choose?"

For a moment, Shortpaw's excitement shone. Then, her expression began to fade to a blank face. Her hindquarters fell on the ground as she thought.
"Oh gosh. Hmm. That's hard." She muttered.
"You, I guess. You're a great cat. But you're a leader, so you're probably to busy for an apprentice. Maybe Spottedfire?"

As he entered camp Ghostpaw paused ignoring how heavy his jaws felt with his catches. His golden eyes scanned the clear stopping momentarily on his leader and Shortpaw to watch their exchanging of words before continuing on towards the fresh kill pile and restocked it with his kills keeping one mouse for himself.

Larkpaw

Larkpaw padded into the clearing her eyes brightening as she saw her brother she quickly grabbed a sparrow and walked over to him licking his ear in greeting before settling down to eat her fresh kill.

Lionpaw bounded back into camp, proudly carrying a mouse in his jaws. He threw it into the pile and sat down next to Ghostpaw and Larkpaw to groom himself quickly. Restless and still buzzing with energy, he turned to the apprentice next to him. "Hey Ghostpaw! Wanna come out for another hunt with me?"

Greypaw licked his lips before turning to Lionpaw his eyes quickly glancing him over the fellow apprentice before nodding. "Yeah okay" he muttered before finishing off his mouse.

Larkpaw's eyes widened Ghostpaw wouldn't usually have accepted this he hardly even hunter with her. "Well you mouse-brains have fun" she smiled standing up and licking her muzzle "I got to go find some Burdock root."

Lionpaw flicked his tail in excitement. "Larkpaw, do you want to come too then? We can do both!" He dropped into a hunters crouch and grinned before springing at her playfully. "Pleaseee?"

Lionpaw shot back up, almost bouncing with energy. "West Cliffs it is then!" He quickly spun around and padded briskly away, hoping they were following. His tail flicked from side to side in excitement.
