Brackenkit looked at the amber eyes staring at him, and he locked up in panic. Even if he'd wanted to move, he wouldn't have been able to.

Nightstar looked over at the kits playing. "Wait... A fox!!" she yelped.

Hawktalon dove towards the fox as she knocked it away from the cats in the clearing. Hawktalon bared her teeth as she unsheathed her claws and started to claw at the fox. "Back off," she hissed at it through gritted teeth.

Using her strength, the tired and injured apprentice furiously scratches at the foxes muzzle, causing it to drop her as it whimpers and rubs at its nose. The other foxes circle Nightstar, snapping at her. The other fox had finished crying about Its wound, grabbing Diamondpaw by her right side of her face, the easiest thing to grab. The fur is dug into, and the force causes it to peel off like nothing. She shrieks in pain, not realising the full extent of the cause as she was thrown. Blood dropped from her face. She couldn't see! Her legs tremble as she collapses.

Woodpaw glared up from where she was sitting, and her eyes opened widely as she saw what was going on in the clearing.. She didn't know what to do so she just sat there and watched, afraid to get in the way of the older warriors and apprentices.

Nightstar trembled in fear for Diamondpaw, and she clawed at the foxes furiously until she got to Diamondpaw. "D-Diamondpaw?" she mewed, crouching over her and shielding her as the foxes clawed and bit Nightstar.

Woodpaw yowled at Nightstar to try and get her attention and asked, "D-Do you need any help?"

Diamondpaw was breathing lightly, but spastic movements made her body jolt under Nightstar. The foxes, after snapping at Nightstar, perk their ears to the horizon as a foxes call is heard. They run off, leaving Diamondpaw with Nightstar.

Diamondpaw wakes up, but looks very weak. "Did I do good?" She whimpers, blood still pouring from her irreparable wound. Her fur definitely wouldn't grow back.

Nightstar noticed the yowl and turned her head. "Yes! Help would be very much appreciated!" she yowled back. "I need to get Diamondpaw to the medicine den."

Fawnpaw raced through the torrent of foxes and stopped by Diamondpaw. "Diamondpaw! Are you all right? You did very good, but we need to help you, fast!"

"Why?" She asks, the world a spinning blur. She eventually closes her one working eye, and passes out again.
