Echofall returned from her hunting patrol, carrying a squirrel, a mouse, and a plump vole. she set her kills on the fresh kill pile and took the smallest piece of prey, the mouse. it was juicy and fresh, and strengthened her muscles, preparing her for the day. after she finished her mouse, she padded to a corner of camp and lay down, stretching out revealing her black belly.

As Spottedstar walked in Mistyeyes had tears in her eyes. "I guess this is where my name cam from." she tried to joke but it only made it worse. "Why do I even try?" she said to spottedstar ,regreting her joke about herself.

She looked at Mistyeyes,who was miserable,and sat next to her. She licked her ear. "It's ok."she said comfortingly,which was hard after the years of ordering this clan around. she hadn gotten used to speaking in a stern commanding voice,not a soft loving one.

She rubbed her face on her moss bead, wiping the tears out of her eyes and off her face. She padded out of the den ,closely followed by Spottedstar. "I'm going to train my apprentice.Maybe it will help mmy mind get off Stormstep." she said as she padded toward Whisperpaw.
