Flamepool lay by the stream, nearly dead. The orange tabby' s fur was covered in claw marks and scratches, and his pelt was matted with blood. "Foxes..." he whispered. He couldn't do it. He couldn't fight them off. His breathing slowed, and his eyes slowly closed.

Dusty was asleep by Littlefoot' s side while she awaited to see what Brightstar wanted to do with him.
