Echo let go on accident, but she then noticed that she was beginning to black out. She managed to stand up, wobbled a bit, then she fell again. She remembered this feeling, when I was abandoned! I won't give up this time! She began to stand up again and began to lunge out at the dog.

Demon used it to his advantage.He could see she was in bad shape and a couple more blows would render her unconcious but he wouldn't kill her.He'd just leave her for his fellow pack members to deal with. He leapt to his paws and leapt onto her back again.He sank his claws into her back and teeth into her thraot but not enough so he was biting her jugular
