Brackenpaw flicked his tail. "A mouse will feel your footsteps before it scents or sees you, while a rabbit will hear you before it scents and sees you," He answered.

"Good," smallfeather commented "now go catch as much prey as you can and then return here" she thumped her tail on the ground

Brackenpaw nodded, turning. Then he turned his head and looked at her. "You were thinking of that pretty-boy loner, weren't you?" He teased.

Smallfeather looked at him "no I wasn't" that statement wasn't entirely true. She began to wash herself because she knew brackenpaw was thinking she would follow, and she was, but maybe in a while so he wouldn't know

Brackenpaw smiled. "Your secret is safe with me," He said before jumping away. He padded into a small clearing. The warm, green grass tickled his paws. He opened his maw, testing for prey scent. He found a mouse, hidden under a tree root at the edge of the clearing. He crouched down. He remembered what he had said before, and he kept his paw-steps as light as possible as he drew himself slowly towards his prey. Once he was close enough, he pounced. He landed squarely on the mouse. He leaned down and sunk his teeth into it's neck.

Smallfeather watched from the top of a tree that had cobwebs all over it so she would blend in 'mhm' she thought writing down the note in an imaginary notebook

Brackenpaw set down the mouse. A bee lazily buzzed by. Brackenpaw watched it. The bee landed on a blade of grass. Brackenpaw crouched down, and jumped on top of it. He yowled in pain as the bee stung his paw pad. He bit his tongue and he hopped backwards.

Smallfeather laughed at her apprentice before waiting for him to catch anything else

Brackenpaw growled at himself, grouchy that he let himself appear so idiotic. He spotted a rabbit several tail lengths away, so he started to stalk it. He was careful not to brush the grass with his paws. But his hind paw brushed a leaf, and the rabbit sat up, alerted. It started to bound away, but Brackenpaw snarled and jumped after it. With a humongous leap, he landed on the rabbit. It struggled until he sank his claws into it's neck.
