Eclipsepaw

"Eclipsepaw! Eclipsepaw! Eclipsepaw!" The clan chanted his name. Eclipsepaw was so excited; he was going to sleep in the apprentice's den tonight! Then, Blueclaw rushed over. "Congratulations!" Other warriors also came over to congratulate him. "Hey! Congratulations!" Snowpaw padded to his side. Eclipsepaw looked down, embarrassed. "Thanks." he muttered. "Come on! Let me make a space for you in the den!" yelled Snowpaw, already at the den entrance. "Sure." Eclipsepaw mewed. "Apprentices, this is Eclipsepaw." announced Snowpaw. "We ain't deaf." answered Scarpaw, glaring at Eclipsepaw. "I have spare moss here." said Snowpaw, pawing the small pile of fresh moss. "Sure. I'll spread it." replied Eclipsepaw, feeling Scarpaw's eyes on his back, like a scanning machine. "You can sleep next to me!" said Snowpaw cheerfully.

Silverkit

Silverkit sighed. Why can't I be an apprentice? she thought angrily, scratching the ground. Fine, then. I'll catch something bigger than a squirrel in the woods. She glanced around cautiously and slipped through the entrance. Next, she tiptoed around lightly, looking for prey. Suddenly, there was a rustle behind Silverkit. She turned. A vole was scrambling around the tree roots, looking for food. Then, she pounced, her tail sweeping the leaves on the ground noisily. The vole heard the sound and took off, running like wind. Then, Silverkit landed on her belly. "Oof!" she mumbled, with her mouth full of leaves. "That was not graceful." said a voice behind her.

Mistfall had gone to collect some more goldenrod and marigold after using what was near to the last of her supply on Blueclaw's wounds. Suddenly, she pricked up her ears and raised her nose to the air. Was that the scent of....a kit? With all the commotion of the gathering, one must have slipped out of camp, she thought, with a twinge of both worry and amusement. Cheeky little kitten couldn't have made it too far....She continued to follow the scent, occasionally pausing to flehmen the air once and again. Finally, she found Silverkit stalking a mole. Her tail-tip twitched with amusement as she stopped, wanting to observe the kit. She was not left unentertained as Silverkit tumbled onto her belly. "That was not graceful," meowed Mistfall, trying not to seem amused.
