Music glared, "There is nothing special about me other than the fact of that I refuse to fear you!" He shouted, anger soaring through his veins. "Besides, why don't you realize that what you are doing, you are doing out of grief for your sister, Celestia, may she rest in peace? What peace can she sleep in if she is watching from above, watching you ruin the land?"

Black Rose returned her taunting greeting with a silent glare, being fallowed by a threatening hiss. Her eyes were locked on the night blue alicorn, not even looking at the other ponies. She was on alert, ready for anything. Even that they did outnumbered the Queen, still they did not stand much of a chance against her as most of them lacked all the magic power, even the most powerful ones like the Alicorns.

"Besides, why don't you realize that what you are doing, you are doing out of grief for your sister, Celestia, may she rest in peace? What peace can she sleep in if she is watching from above, watching you ruin the land?"

At this, Nightmare hesitated. But this moment was only for a few seconds. Her mane flashed from its misty form to the short, azure form she took as Luna. But the Nightmare - spirit that possessed her - quickly took control, pushing Luna to the back of her mind and regaining her powers. And she grinned villainously. "Celestia," she spat the name out as if it were a swear, "always was much too merciful for her own good. If your, say, mother wished to die and you did not let her, would you say that was a bad thing? Whether she realises it or not, it is good."

[Kata Redfox]

"Is that...?" Happy heard a menacing voice. "Nightmare Moon." Happy's triangle ears flew up, her eyes going intense. "Stay here." She said to the stallion simply, her tone unrecognizably harsh. She flew in the direction of the talking.

I must say, I certainly have gained quite a reputation, noted Nightmare as she noticed another oony flying towards her. Of course, ot may have been - and probably was - because, to be frank, it was hard to forget when somepony began to rule a country and then tossed you into a twisted game in which you would probably die, but she preferred the first possibility better.

Happy landed next to the others. "Plunging the world into eternal night...because you felt nopony appreciated it was one thing...but this...you've gone too far. You are wasting away lives...simply because you're bored. You've gone mad..." She shook her head bitterly.

Nightmare spread her wings and landed on a cloud. At least she could stomp her hooves to make a point, she supposed. That was better than just swinging them around. "Let's drop all pretense here. Luna is no more - your damned Nightmare Moon was a mere illusion, to give your princess a feeling of being in charge. I am simply Nightmare." That was more than just an identity 'Nightmare Moon sounds more badass' thing. Indeed, Luna had been fully pushed back at this point. Now she was no longer controlling her actions. Previously, as her NM identity, it had been a mix of both the two. "I possessed her, got her body, end of story. Ditch your 'Celestia wouldn't appreciate this' speech. It won't work."

"Mother, what mother? My family disowned me a long time ago, but yet again you feel like it's our duty to let others die, like you think it was your duty to let Celestia die?" he said with a hint of hatred.

[Piefan]

Nightmare hissed at the pony. "It doesn't matter what happened to your family, you could be raised by manticores for all I care." Her ears were erect and subtly twitching. "Let me repeat this for you: I. Am. Nightmare. Luna, NM, whatever you want to call her, doesn't matter. Is that too complicated for your little head?"

((And for those of you who may be wondering what the hay I'm talking about: IDW issues 5-8 revealed that it wasn't Luna of her own accord who became NM.))
