Cherryfur nodded, letting the much larger cat take the lead, flicking her tail. After a while of walking, she mewed impatiently, "Are we there yet?"

Foxbark looked at the kit. "Really? That's nice. I bet your father was a great cat." Though he smiled, the fox-furred tom's voice was hard. He had hated Tauntedwhisper, but he wanted the kit to feel safe around him.

Tauntedkit nodded eagerly. "He was! Mamma talks about him a lot, saying that I'm just like him!" He bursted with pride, not even noticing Foxbark's tenseness.

Ravenwing looked back at the she-cat. "Almost," she meowed and kept padding on. Then they came upon a bush with sweet-looking bright red berries. She snagged a large leaf and laid it out in front of the bush. She hooked her claw and swiped at the very end of the stems, not touching the berries with her paw. They landed on the leaf softly. "Hook your claw and do as I'm doing. You don't want to touch the berries because they are extremely poisonous. We're going to gather as much as we can. I don't know how much Twistedstar wants, but I'm sure it's more than a few she needs."

Voidkit's ears fell to the side as he tipped his head. "So your daddy wasn't an evil StarClan cat?" he meowed. He'd heard the tales of the evil StarClan cats and how they'd been stopping the newleaf from coming, how they had terrorized and bullied the living cats.

Searedkit looked at Voidkit. "Well, um, let's go over there. I want to see the warrior's den. Don't you?" He mewed.

Cherryfur scoffed at the larger medicine cat, grabbing a large clump of berries in her jaws. "Come on, mouseheart. Hurry up and grab those so we can go." She mewed through the berries with a flick of her tail.

Ravenwing cuffed Cherryfur over the ears, making her drop the berries. "Mousebrain! They're poisonous, even to Shadows!" She growled. She wrapped the berries up into two leaf bundles and grabbed one. She padded swiftly past the Shadow without looking back at the young she-cat. Irritation pricked at her fur. That arrogant she-cat had no idea what those berries could have done to her. If only they listened as well as normal warriors, she thought and cast a glance to the sky. Monsterclaw, if you're still there, please help me out. I've waited many moons for the cats of the prophecy, and I can't see them. I don't know who they are. Please, father. If you can hear me, show me what I need to do. Then she lowered her head with a huff. Of course he couldn't hear her. Starclan had been destroyed moons ago from some unknown cause.

Tauntedkit tilted his head. "I don't know," he mewed. He looked at Lichenkit and Hazelkit. "Come on, let's go!" He bounced away from the two older kits and headed towards a strange den. It smelled strongly of herbs. "What is this place?" He asked curiously, placing a paw onto the cool stone ground inside.

Hazelkit held back and looked at Lichenkit uncertainly. Surely they weren't allowed in there. But Tauntedkit had already disappeared from view, leaving them no choice but to follow.

Cherryfur let out snarl, unsheathing her claws and tackling Ravenwing. Though weight was not on her side, she had speed. "Do you dare disrespect me like that?" She threatened with a hiss, putting her claws on the medicine cat's stomach.

Ravenwing acted fast. She kicked up at the Shadow's stomach, forcing the she-cat off of her. She stood with a snarl. "And you dare disrespect your medicine cat like that?" She shot back, eyes menacing. She had a scratch on her shoulder, but it was not too bad. "You better watch yourself."

Lichenkit bounded off. "Come on Dewkit!" He lost control of his paws and flopped inside the den.

"Haha! Silly furball," Dewkit giggled. Her spirit wavered for a moment.

Cherryfur didn't say anything more, bunching her muscles and following the larger cat.

Twistedstar priced her ears. "Oh, my love, I think the medicine cat is back with the deathberries." She mewed with a grin to her mate, sitting up in the middle of the clearing and waiting for her clanmate and the shadow to return.

"Good," Bluestar purred. He cast his eyes over to their two kits, knowing that they would have a wonderful life.
