Inkpaw’s eyes widened. “W-what…” he meowed. “You mean, some of my littermates aren't actually my littermates?!”

Bluekit put on his fake happy face. “Wait for me!” he mewled, deliberately not running at his full speed. He forced himself to be slower than the others.

Dragonpaw wandered further out, ignoring the strange scent markers she passed. She sat by a river, looking into the water she could see her glowing reflection.

"Hi Bluekit!" Lovekit mewed.

Brambleberry smiled as Spottedpaw ran off. "Lovekit, Maplekit, go on if you'd like."

Maplekit hissed. "Yeah, I bet you want to get rid of us!" He hissed, silently following Bluekit, Twistedkit, and Spottedpaw. Those two... there's something more!

Twistedkit skittered to a halt at the cat graveyard. Now's the perfect time to recruit him! "Hey Spottedpaw." She sounded as awkward and sweet as she could. "I have a secret....And I want to tell you. See...I was Twistedsecret."

Spottedpaw caught up with Twistedkit almost instantly. He stopped beside her. "Hey why'd ya-" He stopped short, eyes wide. "Twistedsecret? B-But....H-How?"

Twistedkit looked hurt and sad. "I was in love with a shadow. I knew it was wrong...but it was so right! When the Great Battle came...I couldn't kill her...So Mistytail, Eagleheart, and Monsterclaw murdered me in cold blood. I swear I wasn't evil!" She pretended to start sobbing.

Spottedpaw looked at her. "Oh...My...StarClan! How could they do that?" He curled around her. "I'm here, It's okay. I believe you. What can I do to help?"

Maplekit stared at Twistedkit with disbelieve. I knew it! What I didn't know, though, is that he...She? became soft!

Bluekit came to a halt. He instantly lost his fake face. "Everyone misunderstood us!" he added. "I was only trying to make the clan stronger!" he meowed, letting his voice morph into Bluestorm's voice.

Shadowpaw nodded, placing his paws like Graycloud had done and practicing his silent creep, trying to go faster without getting louder. It was harder, but he kept trying, wanting to get it perfectly.

"They may as well be your siblings. I think at this point only Shiningpool would remember which kits are which, and even she might have forgotten." he mewed with a shrug. "You grew up side by side- what difference does it make, when you're all practically family?"

Inkpaw nodded. "Yeah... I guess you're right."

"If you're really curious, you can go see Shiningpool afterwards and see if she remembers." Eagleheart mewed, flicking his tail across his apprentice's shoulder. "Come on, not much farther to go now. We've covered most of the territory." He started off again, for the border opposite the one they'd already visited.

Twistedkit let herself morph into Twistedsecret. "Is it wrong to love? He whimpered. "They were the murderers!"

Spottedpaw was stunned as Twistedkit grew larger. Her muscles flexed powerfully under he pelt. Bluekit did the same. "I can't believe they did that! What can I to to help?" The giant apprentice was more furious than he had ever been. "Those fox hearts!"

Twistedsecret grinned wolfishly. "We are collecting an army to exact revenge. Can you join the right side?"

Spottedpaw nodded. "I will stand by you!"
