She nodded, trying to hide the negativity and darkness crawling into her heart. "Yes," the words came out, a miz between a meow and a hiss.

"I know," she meowed grumpily. "I'm not a mouse brain. And I know they haven't abandoned us." She stormed out of the camp, and raced into the forest. She took out her anger, and stress on a log.

Shiningpool
Shiningpool watched Mistytail go, then turned to look at Phoenixstar. "Be kind to her. She seems very stressed out at the moment." she said gently. "And you as well. Rest, take it easy, heal."

Eagleheart
"In the meantime, we should behave as if nothing were wrong." Eagleheart mewed. "If we look like we're trying to raise a panic, no cat will believe us."

Dreamdust looked at him and yawned, "Hey, Eagleheart? Can I ask you something?"

Phoenixstar sighed. He couldn't bring himself to look at Dappletail's comatose body in one of the nests. "Shinningpool," he meowed. "I have eight kits to raise, all by myself." Tears welled in his eyes. "I don't know what to do."

Shiningpool sighed, touching her nose to Phoenixstar's shoulder. "I will help. The clan is largely healthy, so I have some spare time." She mewed gently. "And I am sure that there are some warriors who would be happy to help, if they knew that it was needed."

Eagleheart
"Sure thing." he mewed, stretching as he stood and balanced delicately on his branch, starting to think about the trip down the tree.

She blinked, "When we were sitting our vigil.. And I nuzzled you.. Your fur stood on end. Why?"

Eagleheart
Oh... that... he thought, uncertain of himself. "I was cold." He mewed simply. "Trying to get myself warmer, that's all." He studied the branches below him, dropping down a couple and looking back up at Dreamdust. "Come on. If we stay out much longer cats might start wondering where we are."

But it was only when I nuzzled you! I made you uncomfortable.. Didn't I? she frowned, dropping after him.

Eagleheart wanted to tell the whole truth to Dreamdust, but he didn't understand the feeling anyway, so it would be impossible to tell her what was actually going on. He kept hopping his way down the tree, wishing he had something better to tell her.
