Nightfrost heard a shout from the direction of camp, and hastened his steps. Thoughts coursed through his head faster than a river. What was wrong? Was someone injured? Dead, even? He broke into a full on run, scattering poppy seeds as he went. not much further

B L A Z E C L A W

Blazeclaw tried helping her. Key word in the sentence: tried. He sucked at being a helper so he couldn't do much but helplessely stare at Sapphirepaw suffer. However he dashed back to the medicine cat den and discovered with horror that neither Nightfrost nor his sister Hollypaw were there in the first place. The tom's thoughts were racing through his mind when he decided to go out and look for the medicine cat or his apprentice. "Sapphirepaw, hold on." He had to think fast. Luckily for him, Frozenpaw had entered and was questioning Sapphirepaw about how she was feeling. Of course she was feeling like dirt. That was a mouse-brained question. "Alright. Um, Frozenpaw, stay here. I'm going to fetch Nightfrost." Blazeclaw said and without an answer he dashed out into the forest. He bumped into the tom right there. "Nighfrost! It's the cats! They're sick!" he rushed.

H O L L Y P A W

In horror, the ginger-and-white medicine cat apprentice stared at Falconpaw in pure terror as he lied on the ground without moving a single muscle. Thoughts ran through her mind causing her a headache. She had never dealt with a real sickness but some whitecough and a bit of greencough last leaf-bare. However both her and Nightfrost knew those sicknesses. But this-- this was a whole new level. "I-I don't know..." Hollypaw's voice quivered and then she regained her posture. Stay strong, Holly. There are cats here that need you. It's time. a little voice murmured in her mind. "Alright." Hollypaw meowed, breathing quickly. "If you can smell poppy around here I need you to bring me seeds, Rockpaw. I think there's some at the entrance of the training hollow." as she didn't get an answer, she hurried the tom. "Go- now!" she said. "It will soothe his pain. Then you'll have to help me take him back to the camp. Nightfrost will know what to do" hopefully the voice murmured again.

Buckthorn

"Right. Well," Buckthorn cast his yellow eyes downward, passing his tongue over his jaws to clear his muzzle of any saliva that might have remained. "You shouldn't be near me, Shadeheart. You could get sick too. That is--if it's contagious." Though, when he looked at her, it was too obvious that he was scared. He didn't seem any thinner; he was a naturally skinny cat anyway. But either way, his scrappy brown and white tabby pelt was ungroomed. After a moment to catch his breath, Buckthorn continued: "Where's Nightfrost?" His yellow eyes shifted from the deputy to glance at the ground, to the camp and back again to Shadeheart. He leaned heavily against the wall as if he could not support his own weight--he was terrified by the fact that he seemingly could not. It happened so fast. Yesterday, he'd felt fine. A little feverish, maybe. Slightly more hot than he should, but not this. The fact that he had gone downhill so fast scared him.

Pinestar

Pinestar, the light brown tabby tom, ducked to one side of the nursery. He'd been inspecting the walls for some time, seeing if any rain could get in. After a little fixing and adding to it, he was finally satisfied. Then, he heard the cry.
Somebody, find a medicine cat!
But Nightfrost was out of camp. Concern suddenly swamped over the tabby tom and he abandoned the nursery, his paws carrying him straight to the call. Shadeheart, his deputy, standing in the Warrior's Den next to a panting, sick tomcat. Buckthorn, of course. He could tell by the tom's white and brown tabby pelt. His yellow eyes were glazed over and his jaws parted, panting for breath. Instantly, Pinestar's brown eyes widened in fear.
"Shadeheart--is anyone else like this?" The tom instantly asked, turning his head to the deputy. His tail curled over his back yet he refrained from completely entering the den. His head and shoulders just showed.

Nightfrost reeled to keep from running face-first into the approaching cat. His eyes grew wide with worry Starclan help us he prayed silently. He made it to the camp in a few long bounds, skidding to slow down near the entrance.

FrozenWind-
I woke up with a start. A yowl came from the forrest. I leaped to paws and padded out of the den. "Nightfrost, what happened?!" I yowled running up to him.

Rockpaw
I could tell from the tone of Hollypaw's voice she only kinda knew what to do. That scared the heck out of me. I ran off, muzzle to the ground, to try to smell the seeds. I wasn't positive I knew what they were, but I was pretty sure. I got to the entrance, raising my head to the bushes lining it. I felt seeds brush my nose. I grabbed a part of the bush, pulling as hard as I could to break the branch. some seeds scattered on the ground as I toppled backward when the line came loose. I didn't bother to pick them up. Falconpaw needed me. I skidded into the clearing, stopping in the middle, hoping I was next to Hollypaw. I set them down, pearing around and listening for her voice. "Are these the right thing?"

Shadeheart
I glanced over as Pinestar put his head into the den. I didn't move back from Buckthorn as I should have, but instead held my ground. It might as well have infected the entire den if it was contagious, and me running away from a sick cat wouldn't help anything. "I haven't seen anyone.. But if it's contagious..." I looked at Pinestar with wide green eyes. I snapped my head back to Buckthorn. "Can you get to the medicine cat den? I don't want anyone to touch you... But we need to get you out of here..." In his dizzy and weak state, I doubted he could get there, but I hoped that maybe, just maybe, Starclan would give him enough strength to get there.

My ears swerved at Shadehearts voice. I bounded up to him. "Some thing happened to the patrol! Nightfrost made it back" I yowled.

Nightfrost dropped his bundle of poppy seeds near the entrance. There was more important things to worry about. He shook his head slightly "I don't know any more than you, at the moment" he meowed hastily. In a couple steps he was by Buckthorn and Shadeheart. His mind was in a frenzy, analyzing the situation.
