Oteti landed. "Little owlet... Are you lost?" he said in a neutral tone.

Sano shock her head to the bigger eagle-owl.

Oteti looked up. He saw no nest. "Did you come out here on your own, then? Why? It's dangerous out here..."

"I'm not that far from my home." Sano said quietly.

Oteti tilted his head at her. Should he ask where? Then he could lead the others to the nest for a raid... His conscience twinged. He remembered how terrifying and awful the raid on his nest was. But they would surely find out that he didn't tell about a close nest... Then there would be punishment. He winced. "You should go back," he said quickly. "Or I could take you to my nest?"

Sano hopped behind another root,"I don't know. I shouldn't even be talking to strangers." She said quietly.

Oteti was silent for a long moment. "That's true," he said. "You really shouldn't be away from you nest though, either... Did you fall? Do you need your... parents...?" His voice cracked at parents, and he briefly looked away.

Sano shock her head slightly,"I don't have parents. And I don't want any either." She said to him.
