Megan and her twin sister Erin were born in a very small village. In fact, there were only ten residents, including the two of them. They lived there until the age of two years, and in there second birthday their parents took them on their first dragon ride. They rode a kindly Seashocker, moving at a leisurely pace over the water. When they were returning home, the dragon was shot down by trappers. The family and dragon fell to the earth. Erin and Megan's parents ended up being crushed beneath the weight of the dragon, but the twins somehow ended up on top of the dragon and unharmed. Megan was hidden from view by the wing of the Seashocker, while Erin lay right in plain sight. The trappers took Erin home, and raised her to hate dragons. Megan was left in the woods, and was found by a citizen of Berk, who took her home and raised her to love dragons. .
