Tallpaw slunk into the forest, pricking his ears for any sign of prey. He continued down, until he got to the creek,
where he waited for a fish. It seemed like forever, but eventually, a silver fish slowly swam past Tallpaw. Determined to
win the contest between him and his mentor, Tallpaw lashed his paw out in attempts to catch the fish, but the fish was
too quick. All the apprentice got was a mouthful of water.
Later, Tallpaw spotted a mole, digging next to the roots of a birch tree. The tom lowered himself to the ground and
wiggled his haunches, before leaping into the air and landing squarely on the mole, crushing it's spine. Proudly, he
picked up the mole in his jaws and put it on top of a small mouse he had caught earlier.
