Oakpelt paused as Firestar announced that Splashpaw would become a warrior, not even apprentices who show exceptional skill have ever been advanced to warrior so quickly. He looked at his dead brother's child and could only see her as small, vulnerable kit. Firestar's word was law though and what she says goes, if she feels this is the best choice then he would just make sure to watch out for Splashpaw until he felt that she was warrior enough to fight and hunt on her own.

Splashpaw:
Splashpaw's whiskers quivered with excitement as Firestar spoke the ancient words of their ancestors, she was becoming a warrior! "I-i do! I promise I won't let you or my clan down, Firestar." Splashpaw said, trying to hold back her purr of happiness.

Gentlerain:
Gentlerain sat in silence, her eyes watching her daughter sadly. She heard the saying 'they grow up so fast' but this was too fast. Cedarheart she thought as she bent her head to look at her paws She's our only kit, she's all I have left of you.. I fear she will go to you much too soon..

Firestar cleared her throat. "In tradition of our warrior ancestors, Splashflower must sit silent vigil and guard the camp while the rest of us sleep. But first, let us eat before she begins. Also, its half-moon. Spottedfur and Leafpelt must journey to the Moonstone to present her to StarClan. The blessings of our Clan go with them. Now, let's eat!" Firestar meowed, and flicked her tail in dismissal. She jumped off of her ledge, and stopped next to Oakpelt. "I trust that cats get sent out to hunt immediately tomorrow morning?" She asked.

Lakeshine sighed, getting up and walking over to the fresh-kill pile. Picking up a plump mouse, she walked over to a clearing in the middle of camp, and lay down, beginning to tear at it with her teeth.
