With each swipe that Firefly took at him, Thorin took another step back, until he had pressed up against a tree. At that point, he lunged for the learner and pinned him to the ground, biting at his face.

Firefly smirked and used this at his advantage. He dug his claws into the tom's face, moving his claws from his muzzle to cheek and back again. He gathered up his strength and kicked him off before striking at his side.

Thorin hissed when he felt the claws scrape his face and only bit harder before leaping back. He stood rigid as Firefly struck his side, enduring the pain without so much as a growl.

Firefly yowled at the bite as he began to land more and more swipes.

Thorin gritted his teeth and sank his claws into the ground. He could tell that Firefly had grown a lot stronger during the past two moons. Blood was trickling from several cuts on his face, chest, shoulders, and sides, and he let out the occasional hiss or yowl of pain, but he was determined to stand his ground, no matter how much his wounds stung. After all, endurance was just as important in a fight as offense.

Firefly noticed this and decided to test how long he could go without swiping back. He continued his blows, each one getting quicker. The wounds that Thorin had gave him and the scars from last time stung.

Thorin found that it was becoming increasingly difficult to withstand the constant blows that Firefly threw at him. At last, when he could stand still no longer, he lifted a paw and jabbed at his learner's chest.
