Swiftbreeze watched the mentor and apprentice talk, biting her lip. She touched her tail tip to Scarletpaw's shoulder, before scooting away. She did that to tell the she cat that he was leaving, without speaking up. Her mind whirled and she sped over to Hazelpaw, bursting through the entrance of the medicine cat den. "Hazelpaw!" She whimpered, "I can't do this!" Only to find that Hazelpaw want there.

Flowerdust moves closer purring against him. "I am happy to see you though" she mewed.

Hazelpaw heard Swiftbreeze and ran over. "Hmm?" She meowed, inviting the warrior inside the warm den.

Crowstar straightened, finished. He flicked a scrap of moss off his shoulder with his tail. "Same here." The leader touched his nose gently to Flowerdust's. "I missed you."

He sighed an stood up, going into the apprentice den an curling up in his nest to keep warm.

Flowerdust nuzzled him against his nose. "I missed you as well" she mewed in a happy whisper. She sat in the nest smiling at him.

"I can't do it!" He said, entering the den further. "He doesn't want to be my friend anymore! He is ignoring me!" Her lower jaw quivered as she said that, head deooping slightly. "It is so uncomfortable"

Crowstar nuzzled the she-cat back. "I wasn't expecting to see you. I thought I'd next see you at the Gathering."

"Did he say that?" Hazelpaw asked, knowing it would be hard on Swiftbreeze.

Flowerdust nods in agreement "I didn't think so either, what a pleasant surprise" she mewed gently.

A deep purr rumbled in Crowstar's throat. "Me neither." He laid down, chilly, against the nest. "Somehow my den seems to be the warmest, yet there's a draft somewhere."

"Who's to say they don't?" Scarletpaw asked, laughing all the while. "I bet your fur grew a teeny tiny bit when I said that. Isn't that right, Ashfire's fur?"

Ashfire rolled his eyes at her again, though he got distracted when Swiftbreeze got up and hurried away. He felt bad that he'd been too absorbed in his conversation with Scarletpaw that he didn't get to talk to her about them. Looking back to his apprentice he flicked his ears, "I don't think it's going to speak back to you."
