Mallowshade nodded. "It was. But my brother's never been one to take the decisions of others lightly. If he doesn't support what another cat chooses, even if it has little to nothing to do with him, he's not just going to sit back and accept it. He's going to overreact like a mouse-brained kit."

"Oh, wow, thanks Milkflower!" Maplefur said when he spotted Milkflower with a rabbit trapped in her jaws, "If only I could find something to catch..."

Specklepelt shrugged "I think it is kind of cute really. It's like a little temper tantrum from a kit." She smiled at Mallowshade "Kits are cute when they get all mad, little tiny fur balls of anger." she laughed

"Cute?" Mallowshade echoed. She rolled her eyes. "If you say so."

Milkflower set the rabbit down at Maplefur's paws. "Oh, don't fret! I'm positive that you'll be able to find something shortly. After all, you're such a magnificent hunter! Perhaps we just need to walk a bit farther." Then, with a nervous edge to her tone, she added, "Though not too far. We most certainly don't want to encounter that badger that Cloudsong, Batfang, and Larkpaw did, or find ourselves back in that dark, spooky place where the crows live." She shuddered.

Larkpaw finally left the medicine den, but to her horror, she was covered in scars. She let out a mournful yowl.

"I don't see why anyone would want to be an elder to early though.. Sitting around camp doing nothing does not seem so fun. I'd rather be practicing fighting or hunting, I'm glad I have an apprentice! I can pass on everything I know and some new stuff that I can practice on them too. Have you seen Cinderpaw train? She is a very quick learner and so eager to.. wonder where she is anyways, haven't seen her all morning.." Specklepelt rolled on her back and stretched lazily.

[Cradily]

"I think I saw her carrying Sootpaw into the medicine cat's den on her back," Mallowshade replied. "They probably snuck out on their own while you and Kestrelclaw were distracted and got hurt somehow. Can't say I'm surprised either."

Cinderpaw looked up all of a sudden at Larkpaw. "Larkpaw? Are you alright?" she asked. She hadn't yet found out about the incident with the badger, and hadn't even noticed that Larkpaw was in the medicine cat's den until that very moment. Her eyes grew wide when she saw that the young black she-cat was covered with scars. "What happened to you?"

Larkpaw fell to the ground and covered her head with her paws. "Badger," she murmured.

"You think they are alright? She should know she shouldn't leave camp without a warrior. I should have her care for the elders for a couple of days, I'm sure that grump Diptail would enjoy the extra attention!" she smiled at the though to Diptail not complaining for once.
